RUMOR: Episode 3 or HalF-Life 3 in a couple of years

Why don’t we just wait till June, eh?

Is anyone going to acknowledge that at the end of Ep. 2 they were going into a completely different arc? It seemed like they had everything set up for the next episode, and if Valve came up with enough things to put in there, I’m sure they could make an entirely stuffed game out’ve it.

Do want, but I’m still waiting for a source for any of this.

If by that you mean “good thing that’ll never happen.” then I agree.

I don’t think it’s going to happen. The citing that is…

As long as BM release this year, i can hold for my erection.

the “too bad” was sarcastic, so yes.

Just checking. Sarcasm is hard to convey over the internet. I mean, I thought Acristoff was joking at first, but it turned out he’s just stupid.

I loved HL2 more than HL1 because you actually discover that you, Gordon Freeman, have done SO much damage and your battle with the Nihilanth was SO significant. I love how Half-Life 2 turned out. The world seemed so unique, so different, that you wondered how the hell all of this happened. It all made sense and Half-Life 1 and 2, surprisingly, have one of the most deep and intricate storyline I have ever seen in a video game. I literally almost cried when G-Man tells Alyx “Prepare for unforeseen consequences” and what that meant to fans of Half-Life 1. I don’t know if it was planned out G-Man to say that since Half-Life 1, probably not, but it all fit together! Half-Life 2 felt like Half-Life to me, but the atmosphere was so much better.

So if I understand right, they already have most of the content from Episode 3 but they still need 2 to 3 years to decide wether it’ll be Episode 3 or Half-Life 3, or vice versa?

:meh:

The title said “VALVE says,” yet you have “unconfirmed” within your sentence structure making the whole thing BS.

I changed your title to say “RUMOR” instead of “VALVE says…”

I’m not quite sure how to even respond to something like this. Calling Half-Life 2 an awful game is… well… see I’m lacking the terminology.

Either way, it sounds like what YOU want is more Half-Life 1, not the true successor that Half-Life 2 was. One of the things that made Half-Life great in the first place (and I don’t know how deeply you understand this because I don’t know how old you are) is the new genre-redefining experiences and innovations it brought to the table. As Valve themselves had said, if they would have not paid the same respect to the successor and “raise the bar” in the level of innovation and fresh ideas (on everything from gameplay to art direction), and if they would have instead stuck too close to the original Half-Life formula or setting, it would have been… what was the phrase they used… creative suicide?

I don’t agree with you in the least. Half-Life 2 had just the right mix of tie-ins while bringing something fresh to the table. I’m glad Valve saw it that way as well. It is why HL2 is getting all the “Game of the Decade” awards. The proof is in the pudding.

Bullshit.

I hope. I want both! > :frowning:

T’was a joke sire, sorry I offended your grand intellect I will now proceed to sacrifice sheep for you so that one day I may finally be considered an equal to that of you.

It is so easy to drop a bullshit bomb.

fine with me even though the game informer article said VALVe says half-life 3 or episode 3 in a couple of years, but what ever right its not like you read the article

Look who’s talking.

100% signed!
Also the story is much deeper and way better in my opinion.

Calling it awful is…heresy!

It is good as it is and no so-called “reboot” could ever replace it.

Knowing valve, I honestly don’t think it’s that unlikely.

Half-Life 2 is awful.

You sir, would be correct.
