ROUTINE Sci-Fi Horror Exploration Indie Game

Here’s an interesting and good looking (UDK engine) indie game in development.

One of my most anticipated games. Hope it comes out soon.

That video is probably one of the most unnerving videos I have ever watched.

That really looks interesting.

You are hereby appointed to keep us updated on its progress.

I remember seeing this a while back. Trailer still gives me chills.

that walking robot reminds me so much of system shock

Yup, keeping an eye on this one. Not usually into horror games, but it was pleasingly absent of scare chords that sorta ruined Dead Space for me.

Yup, that’s one I’ll buy… and about after 15 minutes be too afraid to resume playing again.

When this game is coming? Can anyone tell the exact time for this. I am curiously waiting for this indie game and will buy it as released.

Hell. Yes.

How did they manage to make a lonely robot seem as scary as an undead monster?

edit: Permadeath! :what:

Well, for one there’s the whole uncanney valley thing. For two they’re more plausible oddly enough.

Good point. I think a robot in this context is almost more alien than a biological alien or monster. We want to envision aliens as having human-like emotions like empathy or hate. Either they’re “good” or “evil” and we can relate to that. But can a robot be good or evil if it’s just circuits and programming? It can be an absolute killing machine in the truest sense without having a single evil circuit in its datacore. So, we can’t relate to it, we can’t know it. It’s like a chainsaw that starts up on its own and starts chasing you. How do you reason with it?

Hell, I haven’t had enough sleep to be properly philosophical. Game look good. Want to play.

I’m very excited for this game - this especially seems like it would be perfect to get the oculus rift for.

This actually looks pretty cool even though I’d probably find it to be heart attacks by the dozen.
