This either turns out really cool, like the cars in iRobot, or really bad for humans, like the rest of iRobot.

Edit: Also would that not mean everyone would have to buy a Volvo to have that? And volvo would have to put random lorries driving around everywhere? And the fact that most people won’t use it as angry driver (like me) get sick of being stuck behind lorries of any sort so have a natural instinct to overtake them?

I would still prefer the Google self driving cars. they’ve been around for a while now, just not finished.

I think a lot of the accidents that happen nowadays would be eradicated if they just had a little more training required. Also police should put less emphasis on speeding tickets and up costs for being stupid and causing accidents. The ones ACTUALLY getting into accidents and acting retarded should get court costs and fines, not people who know how to drive well enough to feel comfortable at faster speeds.

google car automatically stops you outside shops on your way to places based on your searches

I like the idea of being the only person not able to afford one, and motoring past huge lines of traffic…

At the moment computers can’t work for 10 minutes without something crashing, so I’m a bit sceptical of entrusting my safety and my car to them. Still, if anyone can do it properly Volvo can

warning, system failure, auxiliary system also failure “insert system disk and press any key”
crash

Sure as hell wouldn’t be an american car company trying to innovate. Those morons work harder at making commercials where trucks pull aircraft carriers instead actually r&d. Its a wonder why the gov’t didn’t just let them cave under the weight of their own stupidity.

I sense some anti-American rage.

Yeah I saw that as an experiment though, because Google is no car manufacturer. (Yet)

I’d prefer the Google car as well though, the whole idea of it seems a lot more user friendly…

lol’d

lol idiot

Google did this way ahead of Volvo.

EDIT: Considering you specified “CAR COMPANY” I forgive you, I didn’t look that deep into your post. :frowning:

I actually don’t like the idea of a self driving car…I actually like driving…where’s the fun in driving if the car does it by itself?

It would ruin the fast and furious movies…not that I’m complaining about that

Errr…no. In 2010, Google just put a big Google sticker on what was basically a Stanford/Volkswagen project until that moment, and started blabbing about Google this and that.

This autonomous Audi TT wasn’t a Google car yet when it was first shown in 2009.
Volvo’s research on highway efficiency and driver assistance dates back to the 70s.

Most modern cars have at least some component that is computer controlled.
