Both skins will work, but using the 9mmAR skins for HL in Sven may have some undesired effects.
I dont know if it’s possible to enhance the HL1 experience.

G-Invasion replaces nearly all models with G-Men
Counter-Life introduces Counter-Strike concepts into the original singleplayer such as money and weapons.
DiamonD is a super definition pack. Doesn’t replace Nihilanth though.
Opposing Force contains lots of cool weapons, but you’ll have to cheat to get them. It also has some quirks that weren’t in the original Half-Life.
A helmet comes with the HEV suit if you play Half-Life with Blue Shift. That’s the only difference I noticed.
Half-Life: Zombie Edition let’s you play as a zombie (and headcrab.) It is possible to do without cheating, if you get hit by a headcrab as a human, you will zombify. The game will crash at a few places, and most buttons can only be activated by hitting them. It also really sucks to be a human since you can’t run. But other than that it’s fun.
Since when did you have to cheat to get the weapons in Opposing Force? You get them all in the game.

much like in garrys mod u can use a portal gun in c17.
I can’t recommend any mods that change HL itself, though if you want mods set in BM, you might want to look into Uplink Extended, Life’s End, (sorry, no link; I can’t find it, but I know it’s out there) the demo for the now canceled mod Static Friction (Make sure you have the proper dlls as seen in the description) and watch for the upcoming mod The Core.

i’ve found this 2 days ago and downloaded it - it’s a great mod. i love the rework and details of textures, models and sounds. it makes hl1 worth to finish it again.

He’s closing his eyes before the slap even hits, most people wouldn’t even blink if they didn’t know a slap was coming, but if he has time to blink beforehand, then he should have enough time to duck as well
Blinking is probably an unconditioned reflex.
When I play HL1, I play on all the lowest possible settings.
