real 3D-art and culture - the demo scene

i’m a fan of the demo scene since 1990… if you are also a fan, don’t miss https://www.pouet.net - the greatest demo archive of the world. no demo is missing there, even not the first demos that ran on the C64 and MSX.

for your real pleasure and if you got a fast PC, i recommend the demos from:
Andromeda, ASD, Alcatraz, Fairlight, Farbrausch, Outracks and don’t miss the top of the month and all time top on pouet.net!

there are still 4kb and 64kb demos - if you saw some of them you’ll wonder what great GFX and musics are possible with only 4kb or 64kb of space, for example Candytron by Farbrausch, Kings Of The Playground by Equinox or Sult by Loonies.

yes, it’s all there on pouet.net, just enter the search field and search for a production or a crew. from the groups above i’ve namd they never make bad productions.

I’ve been a fan of the demoscene since 2007.

Very trippy stuff if you have a fast computer.

I’d recommend Lifeforce by ASD or anything by Farbrausch as a good start for anyone interested in modern PC demos.
There’s some truly great stuff out there, especially for older machines (some C64 demos are incredible).

EDIT : my god this year’s breakpoint winneris mindblowing

hmm… interesting, why don’t they write graphics engines?

oh yes, lifeforce by ASD and this one from Fairlight are some of my favourites, too - great stuff

some of them are also in the game industry or working in the hardware industry, some of them are doing this just for fun and for the competition.

Some cool demos are:

fr-025
fr-041
fr-043
1995
Rapture
Size Antimatters
Lifeforce
Iconoclast
IntoThePink
TheSeeker
Stargazer
Masagin
Elevated (just 4kb!!!)

Sorry for no credits but most of the authors were already mentioned ITT.

i agree 100%! and i’ve just downloaded fr-043 yesterday, great stuff, good music as always from fr and of course, mindblowing GFX! you also shuld give fr-minus-09 (human ressources) a try, it’s worth it! and “Wir sind Einstein” is a great demo, too

there’s a remake of the popular 5 disk amiga-demo “Odyssey” from ATZ (Alcatraz):

https://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=52058

also the remixed music sounds great!

This is the best kind of demo
