Ram Speed Calc.

Hi just installed a new bit of software from Pirisoft. (if you are unaware who that is you should, there fucking excellent.)

and looked at my summary :

it says my 6.0GB DDR3 is @ 660MHz? and has timings next to it.

is the 660MHz like for example, if i bought Corsair 1600MHz, itd say :

Corsair DDR3 (whatevermodelnumber) @ 1600MHz?

Id just like to know if thats all cool. :expressionless:

ram clock x 2 usually
e.g. my RAM is 667MHz and the effective clock is 1333MHz

Alright so, if i said my DDR3 Ram is 1333MHz, thats right?

correct

Why Thank you.

Yep and that means you didn’t set the proper memory speed in the BIOS nor did you set the proper timings just like 99% of the people out there who buy memory and have it running at much lower speeds and slower timings.

Go to the BIOS and change the settings to factory specs (look at the sticker on the side of the memory) this includes setting the proper voltages. That memory can probably run at (and is probably rated at) 1600 MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings.

ASUS boards can be retarted and put the memory B2B (back-to-back CAS latency) to 0 which results in random computer lock-ups, if you’re experiencing this you must change that timing otherwise your computer will lock up billions of times which is extremely annoying.

edit:

You don’t have an ASUS board but whatever. :stuck_out_tongue:
