It keeps telling me that video isn’t found or I don’t have access.
The graphics might not be that large a step up from what we have now but the animation and facial… stuff was pretty good. Not to mention I thought the acting was really good.
I do agree we need to hurry up and get to next gen.
Well, congradu-fucking-lations. You discovered the point of the video!
I seriously hope that they do NOT make a sequel to Omikron, even though I liked it because of the neat story, its direct link to the “Nomad Soul” gameplay, the great setting, David Bowie’s soundtrack and so on…
But what do you expect from a sequel to Omikron? To continue its story or the open world, the shitty fighting and shooting, or the lame riddles that you had to solve? Or are you just hoping for the same setting?
Actually I’d like to see something new, although I do agree that if the next Quantic Dream game is orienting roughly on Omikron’s science fiction setting (or science fiction in general), it would be pure awesomeness.
The animations and modelling work are good, but the graphics algorithms are old and cheap and the textures are low resolution. In addition, that subtle glow is just trying to cover it all up. TBH, they set up the scene so that they wouldn’t have to do anything expensive or new.
It was a tech demo, silly, its only purpose was to show the improved animation tech, graphics were secondary.
Besides, that tech demo is one year old and made on an unoptimized and incomplete new engine.
In the Year 2005/2006 was it enough…
Time changes and maybe we get a little suprise in 2013/2014.
Perhaps, but future-proofing never hurt anyone.
it hurts the profit.
Thanks, the only version I could find on youtube was shitty quality.
Just in case someone’s wondering: Her German pronunciation is horrible. If bought her, I’d probably switch her to English, French or Klingon or something…
I’m starting to think that complaint is just a thing people just throw in for the fuck of it. Every single game that comes out, someone complains about texres as if it was the determining factor of all graphics all the time. Get this: texture resolutions in videogames are small. WOAH! Just like poly counts are low! Wow!
I think imbusy doesn’t realize that this demo is for the PS3.
THAT EXPLINZ IT CUZ DA PS3 HAS DA BAD EARLY CURRENT GEN GRAPHICS INSTED OF SUPEROROR CURRENT CURRENG GEN GRAFIC
Remind me of I.Robot and I want to see game with this type of story.
I don’t get what you’re so mad about. The PS3 is old -> the textures are low quality. There’s not much you can do about it and high quality graphics needs high resolution textures. The demo is cool, but it’s no better than pretty much anything else available on the PS3. I just can’t understand when people say their minds were blown. Good job? Yes. Groundbreaking? No.
I didn’t notice any low quality textures in the demo.
GamesRadar actually has a very nice article about the demo I read a little while ago that sums up my thoughts of the ordeal nicely, you can read it here.

As far as the tech goes, it’s pretty impressive I guess? By today’s standards ‘pretty impressive’ doesn’t really say much, I was far more wooed with the glimpses of in-engine footage in the AC3 trailer. But hey, that… shader skin thing?.. was nice, I guess?
I guess you completely missed the point of the video then.
