Wait a few years
O yah, all of you folks are still on 1.6 I donated and get access to the 1.7 dev builds.
Well of course the emulator is never going to be as good as the real deal. However it certainly can be playable enough.
As far as X360 and PS3 emulators go its probably going to be a long time.
I had some problems playing Mario Tennis and Tony Hawk 64 on PJ64. Might have to try it again though since I haven’t on my new computer.
I kinda want a dreamcast.
Well, technically, an emulator can play the games far better. Take PJ64 as a good example. But it’s still great to get the consoles out

I actually used that torrent legally; I activated it using a real CD key
PCSX2 has yet to prove that one.
Dammit man, why did you have to be right about MGS3. It runs pretty damn badly.
But what you just said is still wrong There are games that you can play in full hd with all the bells and whistles AA, and most importantly, using my 360 pad
Some games - sure. Still the emulation doesn’t work as intended though. All those speedhacks and other forms of shoving a vibrator up one’s own ass is not the way to go.
They gotta build multicore in.
I have the dolphin emulator, emulates the gamecube and the Wii, though the latter I never use. i have a quad core at 3.2GHz and it’s pretty slow in a lot of games, though the ones that are important work fine. also, using a 360 pad is nice, and the games that do run well allow me to use custom texture packs and anti-aliasing.

Heh, I play Wii games and gamecube games on dolphin in 1080p(strangely, the only game I have had trouble with FPS-wise is Metal Gear Solid : The Twin Snakes) which is a higher resolution than the Wii/gamecube can output, and it shows.
I also enjoy playing some PS2 games using PCSX2, and MGS3 runs around 60FPS with few graphical glitches, but the one big glitch is that water reflections are bugged to shit. It is most certainly playable, and a great game to top that off.
I use a Intel C2Q q6600 overclocked to 3,6GHz and a GTX 460 (also OC:d). I’m thinking of buying a new rig soon though, getting a i5 2500k and clocking that shit to 4,6-5GHz. That would probably run MGS3 at a high FPS using software mode, lol.
I never got the success of the dualshock. It doesn’t fit in my hands well, the joysticks have horrible feel and are badly placed, and in the PS3 iteration, the triggers are shit. Lots of travel, tiny analogue.
Gamecube/Wii emulation is pretty stable and runs without high requirements on the Dolphin Emulator.
No More Heroes runs at a snail’s pace on dolphin. There are no other games on the Wii worth playing.
No More Heroes ran terribly on my Wii. Plus it was repetitive.
dammit I want to ply NCAA Football 2011 on my PC!
I would bring a more holistic rebuttal, but I’m far too tired. Instead, here’s a lst you should try (read: try, not: “absolutely the best games in the universe that will reverse all of your preconceptions about the Wii”):
- Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (The Wiimote makes it about a billion times better)
- Trauma Centre: New Blood
- Mad World
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Donkey Kong Country Returns
- House of the Dead: Overkill
- Mario Strikers: Charged
- Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
- Metroid Prime (haven’t tried the Wii-ified versions of the original 2, but they look okay)
- Mario Kart Wii (I would HOPE you’ve already tried it, but it takes everything that was bad about Double Dash and removes it)
- Super Smash Brothers Brawl (SO many hours of fun was had here)
- Zelda: Twilight Princess
- WarioWare: Smooth Moves
There are a few more, but I don’t have them in my collection. Anyway, they’re some of the better/different ones which are worth trying if you’ve got a Wii sitting in the corner with nothing to do. Of course there’s Homebrew (which is the main function my Wii serves now) which have a slew of emulators and games to try out, but these are some of the actual games you should try. Can’t speak for any of the shop titles since I don’t have the moola to try them out (except Defend Your Castle looks line insane fun).
