PS3 and/or xbox360 Emulation

Will it happen any time soon? Why or why not? Personally I don’t know two shits about the subject, but I think it’d be really cool to play newer Halo games and shit on a pc.

Of course it will happen. About the time that the PS3 and xobx die out emulation will be possible for them.

Why do they have to die out first?

Note that they still cannot make ps2 emulation efficient.
You are dealing with a completely different architecture thus emulation takes an unreasonable chunk of resources just to run BIOS.
To emulate MGS3 with the latest version of pcsx2 you need a cutting edge PC (processor especially, you need multicores) and it still doesn’t run as intended.

Mainly the problem is that the register is 128bit

Try and emulate that on x64 - you get an ass
Floating point performance on PS2 onwards dwarf that on regular CPUs since they have separate units for it.
PC CPUs are designed to work with different applications altogether.

tl;dr - comtemporary console emulation is a waste of resources and money.

Just spend 200 bucks on a console and get over your ignorant fucking bias

this

About 50% of games with my emulator are playable, rest run on 5-10 fps with every config xD

This here is some stone cold truth

Second hand they’re next to nothing to buy

For real. You’re in high school, right? Kids are always selling their consoles for some reason, usually because they feel the need to convert to a rival system. Ask around.

You can probably get a 360 with a HDD + a few games for like 80 bucks, probably lower.

Gut the things, hide the components in your PC case, make holes for the wires and use your monitor as a TV if you want to play pretend

I dunno odb, all of the PS2 games I’ve emulated are fine, with the possible exception of SotC and GT4. And they just jun a tad slowly. All the others are nigh on perfect.

I can also add that I only have a 3 core cpu (the emu loves cores), and that I set the D3D output as 1080.

All I car about is Halo. I’m not spending 100+ dollars and my dignity on a system just to play Halo.

Then it looks like you will never be able to play recent Halo games.

You see, multicores is where it’s at. Do the games you mentioned really need them? That’s right, waste of resources. Then there’s synchronization. Yes, you can do it, but not efficient in any way. Compare that to what PS3 hauls and see the pain in the arse in the result.
What’s your clock btw? Are you running x64?

Do they display graphics as intended? Or are there glitches?
Also, try to run MGS3, I’m interested to see how it runs.

Have fun playing Halo 3 for the first time and retaining your fake ‘dignity’ when you hit 70.
That is, if you do hit 70.

I’m pretty sure the pcsx2 team only distribute 32 bit binaries (for windows, anyway).

Right. If that’s the case, we might as well see a leap in performance when they build in 64 bit support
But a quick read - and I see they’ve run into other problems:

Tried PS2 Emulator…sucked…never gonna use an emulator again. (Of course my computer was also shit.)

You have got to be a troll.

:retard:
Let’s just count how many times you have arbitrarily called someone a troll. But actually no, don’t. You do it in every second post of yours.
You moron.

I’ve tried PS2 emulation in the past, but it ran too slow on my computer. I’m sticking with emulators of old systems that I don’t have anymore or old systems that broke, like the N64 or SNES.

Those run perfectly, although the keyboard controls are a bit confusing. :stuck_out_tongue:
