Proposing a standard for the logo of the Black Mesa Research Facility

me too.

Cool I like that some people are serious about keeping even the small details consistent!

By the way, does the abbreviation “BMRF” actually ever appear in Half-Life? I think it looks ugly and reminds me of BFR (brominated flame retardant) and I don’t remember reading it anywhere in the game.

I see you guys are having fun. Thanks for the support. I’ll try to make the standard for Lambda character now or tomorrow if I don’t make it.

There is no “actual BM” logo, that is the reason why I created this. There are many different versions of the logo which don’t match (both official and unofficial). They were also most likely done free-hand, without measuring anything. My standard, however, indicates all values in relative form, or in percentages of the outer radius (or logo width or logo height).

Still, I was trying to make it as much closer to the official logos as it could get (averaging elements between several different versions or picking the one that looks better)

:hmph: It appears that the Aperture Science logo needs a standard too.

EDIT: actually, no, it is just rotated for 10 degrees, everything’s fine.

Heh, nice.

Only in Decay.

Ah, sorry for the confusion, but when I asked “Is the actual BM logo up to this standard?” I meant the logo the mod uses around the website.

Hey, thanks!!! :awesome:
Really, thanks a lot

Slap it on a black background (blackground?) and you’ll be set.

Dammit, when will this forum accept transparency in the avatars? :frowning:

mmmm… boredom…

Unfortunately, no. See here.

But it’s not hard to combine them:

No problem. I just added a few rectangles in Inkscape and C/P-ed HEX value from Argentinian flag.

I don’t think I could make a Lambda standard. The angles and lengths are weird and it’s impossible to snap them into a grid while maintaining resemblance to the original Lambda. It’s probably best to just export the A character from HalfLife2.ttf into various formats so it is easily accessible to anyone who needs it, which I will do tomorrow 'cus I’m tired (it’s 2: 30 AM).

I took the liberty of adding the background for you, but of course the credit still goes to Andy. :3

I think you missed a bit.

Fix’d :stuck_out_tongue:

But the frame remains…

BEST INTERNET COMMUNITY EVER

Really guys, you are all great. Thanks a lot.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I just realized the grey frame would be a border to the image. Bollocks.

:fffuuu::fffuuu:

Well, nevermind, I will leave it like this for thanking you guys.

Nice activities, bro :bulb: :bms:

ohshit is the BMRF smiley up to snuff?

Is the logo on the building up to standard?:bms:

P.S. I re-e-e-eally suck at photoshop and I don’t have corel installed atm.

Cool. I’ve always wondered what it’s like to have mild autism.
