Proof mouse>controller

Hardcore gamers sometimes have a hard time understanding that some people just want to have a good time playing games alone or with their friends instead of being competitive drones with almost pre-cognitive reflexes and accuracy, who only care about being #1 on the scoreboard.

Joysticks also use the entire hand to aim, but they are not good for first-person shooters.

For first-person, mouse is best. Trackball is next. And analog sticks come last. Nothing you’ve said in this post defends your claim that trackballs are worse than an analog stick.

I played TFC using a Kensington Orbit trackball, for over two years (back in the days when things had serial-connectors). It was inferior to the mouse, sure, but it was playable enough that I continued using it because it was there (and didn’t go out of my way to get a mouse).

I was still the top killing/capping pyro in low-grav 2fort. Heck, even my cat beat Half-Life using the thing.
