Click “User CP” in the top left corner, below the thread title but above post reply.
Click “Edit Avatar”
Click “browse”
Look for the picture on your computer.
Click OK
Click upload.

I should’ve known it was an avatar. 
Make it have to do with that super cool username of yours.
I’ll have to do some brainstorming on what to put for my picture. I decided to go with a glock pistol for my signature. 
I used to have a great “Gentlemen” picture, but it was a picture of Ralph from the Simpsons with a zillion twizzlers in his mouth. I lost it when my hard drive failed though.

I’m guessing you’re using an image from another website…
Take whatever graphic program you’re using (even MS paint…), paste your picture and then stretch it by the corners to enlarge it.
However, firstly I strongly advise against using MS Paint. There’s a nice, free piece of editing software out there called GIMP - look into that if you can’t get your mitts on photoshop.
Secondly, stretching a .JPG image is always a bad idea. It just ends up pixellated and blarghtastic. You’re best off finding an image that is too big and then sizing it down to whatever you want.
Even better: Make your own and then you can tweak the size to your exact likings :]
Your signature?
Don’t upload it to the site, use an image hosting service like VuloMedia or Imageshack, or whatever. Host it there and make an image in your signature using the [img] tag.
Well I was going to have a glock, but I found this image instead. 
noved, if you don’t have that image in your browser cache, it comes up as an image of Osama Bin Laden with the caption “Hotlinking supports terrorism” (which is annoying as it’s pretty tall). You might want to try uploading it to an image host like https://tinypic.com/ and linking from there instead.
