Problem running Hitman Codename 47 on Windows 7

Hi

I’ve recently installed this Hitman, and when the game starts, the general velocity of everything is like 1000x what the normal sped would be. I am running the game on a laptop with windows 7, and I didn’t install the patch because, while doing it, it’s setup showed that my version whas newer than the patch.

I try running the game on the compatibility mode for windows 98 and 95, but the “extra turbo button” was still on.

Anyone knows how to solve the problem?

I suppose you have a multi-core cpu, so you probably need to set the game’s .exe affinity to only one core to fix the problem.

Yes, I forgot to say that. Could you tell me how to do it, because my knowledge on this is poor, and I’m afraid of doing something that could crash anything else.
Thanks.

Open Task Manager by right-clicking on the taskbar, open the Processes tab, find the game’s exe, right click on it, open “Set affinity” and then uncheck all cpus except cpu 0.

That should do it.

Tried your suggestion. While the game was running, I opened the task manager to use your recomendation. The only message that appeared was “access denied”.

Oh, try enabling vsync in your drivers.

Forgot about that before.

edit: ugh, I made a new post instead of editing the previous one, oh well…

Finally, problem solved.

Thanks for the help, Maxey. My laptop uses a default Intel chip instead of a nVidia or a ATI one for graphic issues, but it was solved with a console command, which I am going to share here:

IP_TIMEMULTIPLIER .(enter desired number here)

*to enable console, add “enableconsole 1” on the hitman.ini file, located on the Hitman directory.
