I’ve been playing black mesa the past few hours straight,but I’ve spent an hour trying to get past it alone. i got all the power turned on and got the security door button on,but every time i try to sneak or run past the Gargantua he sees and kills me,am I doing something wrong?Any answers would be appreciated,thank you

Throw some explosive satchels at him and he will will duck down hole for 5 secs or throw a grenade in opposite direction to the ladder and he will follow the noise and he cannot see.

I remember that if you left the area for a short while, he sometimes wanders around his stomping grounds. That -might- give you the opportunity you need.

The Gargantua can be killed by luring him into the adjacent power relay station, plugging in the cables then electrocuting him.

Edit After turning on the power of course.

Sorry OP I though that was name for the 3 legged beast in the pit lol, wrong level.

I’m having the same issue, didn’t want to report a bug, as it may be something ingame that I’m missing. I have the power on, security door open, when I make it to the generator only one prong is shooting electricity at intervals. There is no action if I try to hit the red button on the upper level, Gargantua is in position. Any help would be great.

*Found the cables mentioned above, Solution below:

There are two cables at the base of the ladder (look to the left and right) in the transformer room. Clever addition and easily overlooked by someone that played the game about a decade ago…

Yeah, I remember going to the button to press it and I was like… Wait a second, it’s not working PANIC!!!

Then I saw the two plugs and I was just like “Devs, you brilliant, sadistic assholes.” XP

I as well fell for the plugs, it was unpleasant as while climbing back down the big guy spammed his flamethrowers in the door making it a rather warm situation climbing back up…

Really stuck here guise… I can’t use the elevator and these buttons on this machine don’t work either and no way out… OmG

Do you mean the red thing with the bouncing part? If yes how to fix it? Or if not what to fix? I mean I have been for like 1 hour in this spot and getting frustrated… :fffuuu:

All the way downstairs to the flooded room and the machine that beeps every once in a while. It’s jammed with random junk. Fix it.

erhm im seriously stuck?
i just killed the gargauntia whit the static discharge blast.
and i think im suppose to turn the rails so i can contuinue on the rail car…
but i simply cant turn the rails anywhere?
isent it supposed to be on the rail turnabout panel?
no buttons are active anywhere in the control room??:expressionless:

If you listen to the guard, he tells you to go down and fire up the train and he will turn it for you. :slight_smile:

he spells guys as guise, getting stuck in a linear fps, doens’t seem so surprising after that :slight_smile:

C’mon it’s not so easy… i’ve finished 3 times HL1 and i got stuck around a few times :slight_smile:

Thx for replies and yeah I can speak fluent English if you really need that. And I bought HL for CStrike yeaaars ago and never played it thru.
