That’s just the good ol’ Unreal engine at work. Or maybe I forgot to turn particle quality back up after all my settings rest themselves to minimum.
Edit: It’s the former.
Mine reset themselves to maximum after every patch - annoying because it causes massive stuttering on some maps unless I turn things down again.

Yes
Running it with the Gothic Player Kit and framerate unlocker, as well as a widescreen solution which can be found here (unfortunately it’s vertical- rather than horizontal+ - thankfully the game allows you to zoom out quite a long way).
I think it’s mostly related to the textures and (possibly) weather effects.
Larger maps have it worse than smaller ones - HeloDeck and the training level run fine with maximum settings, but larger maps (especially Containment) stutter like mad.
It seems to get worse after a few games on different maps.
Maybe the game has some sort of video memory leak that starts to impact performance sooner when more memory-intensive options are enabled?
Whatever the cause is, the problem seemed to become much worse sometime around the release of the Evacuation expansion, then began to affect the main menu as well after the most recent expansion…
Yeah, I’m quite certain that there’s a memory leak of some sort; the problem seems to get worse over time.
For now I’m mostly just sticking to pure metro servers, since they seem to run best.

Yeah, there’s 4 total hallways, and only one is real. If you run down the others at the end there’s really small. It wasn’t hard to figure out the real door but it was still really cool I thought.
Thief Gold has been sitting in my Steam queue for months. I need to get around to playing it.
I still need to get around to beating it. I played it for quite a while and stopped a while back.
I was going to play it, but I decided to hold off because I wanted to see the cradle in T3 first for some reason, but eventually T3’s clunky movement mechanics just got me real fed up, and all that did was burn me out.
