I am using the steam version of gta4, it works but doesn’t have all the features and has a few bugs[like the sky]

checking within the read me’s of the mod you will find a read me on how to “downgrade” your version to previous patches.

People are all having different reactions and errors too: if you need any help i am sure you could find it here - But be sure to read a few of the other posts as usually questions have already been answered, and i can understand how it gets annoying for people to answer the same question over and over. needless to say, check it out and see if there is a way to get it working, as said before, there is a 1.0.7.0 version out for EFLC but i haven’t tried it yet.

It appears that you’re using the German version maybe? In that version, scientists don’t die, they just sit down, shake their heads, then fade out.

Probably a bug because of that change.

:smiley: Its my Steam version XD but I think that this bug happens too in my old CD version XD. In any case it is not the German version because, thanks to GOD, I kill soldiers, not robots XDDDD In any case, maybe, could be a bug in the european version. But I am sure that I saw the same bug in my original Half-life distribuited by Sierra. But I can chek it because an idiot stealed me that CD a long time ago… > :frowning: XDDD

Installed that mod that was mentioned earlier and it’s awesome. It looks at least as good as the one that I was using before and it actually runs at my monitor’s resolution and it runs better.




Shame that the dof was way too much so I’m not using it. Anyone know how to make it not as strong? I tried changing some stuff in the visualsetting.dat but it didn’t do anything :frowning: .

Also, anyone know any good texture mods?

I am getting the “better city textures” but its like a 4GB download so that’s taking me ages to get a hold of. but i think that is what the guy was using in his videos.

As for the DOF i don’t know. sorry i cant help more
I did however find a couple of files within the GTA4 directory called “subtle depth of field” and “subtle depth of field HQ” and they are both rar/zip files so for more subtle dof you may have to unzip those and put the files in the correct directory.

This is a live scientist on Xen. After playing HL for the 100th time, I never knew this dude was in the final Xen room on a legde when the Nihilanth teles you the third time. he sits on the ground on a high ledge against the wall and when i helped him up, he complained “theres goes our grad money.” lol. So i beat him with a crowbar and poked his left eye out.

(I wonder if in the BMS mod, there will be a scientist curled up in a ball somewhere during the final battle in Xen who you can possibly get help from if he still has his sanity… and a medicinal syringe)
