Post your 'puter

I also have some very nice speakers for their being 2.1. Gateways. Built like tanks, too.

Pics of the new rig:

Hey, does the OC button overclock more if you throw a better heatsink in your system?

Awesome, MaxTheLimit. I have the same exact Corsair 750W power supply in my custom-built Windows 7 gaming rig.

You have a custom-built Windows 7 gaming rig? No wai! :B

Intel Core i7
NVIDIA Quadro FX580 (and/or GeForce 8600GT OC 512MB GDDR3, depending on whether I’m gaming or running CUDA).
LG 22’’ Monitor (LOL @ Jambo’s rig)
6GB DDR3 SDRAM
500GB SATA, Maxtor 200GB external
ArchLinux + KDE 4.3
DELL 19’’ LCD Flatscreen (only usable with the 8600GT)
A 750W power supply, as mentioned above
3 Fans/Heatsinks
Linksys WRT54G router w/ open firmware, configured as repeater bridge (=> wireless lan)
an optical mouse that i won’t speak of
noise-cancelling headphones which fail to work…
some sort of weird ergonomic keyboard.

sorta shity hp lappy

Just realized how much HDD space I have.
150 GB internal
300 GB internal
1.5 TB internal
250 GB external
250 GB external (passport drive)
1 TB external
Also a few flash drives, and a bunch of CD/DVD’s that I used for backup.

Nothing compared to some people, but almost 3.5 TB ain’t bad.

It was by his “coworker”

I know, I’ve seen him type that so many times, like if it’s the best thing since sliced bread. The asshole-ish tone I was trying to convey didn’t really show well.

Because it isn’t just any 'ol gaming rig, it’s an (OMG!) custom-built Windows 7 gaming rig! o0o0

@level - No, I don’t think it has a great deal of impact on the outcome. The cooler I have just keeps it a bit cooler, easier. Had the same processor on the step down from my board running at the same frequency. It just runs a bit warmer. It’s more dependent on memory I believe.

@bob - It is a good power supply. The only problem I have is the cables. I almost wish I bought modular. I have so many extra cables just stuffed into the top portion of my case.

My desktop gaming rig just has a single WD caviar black 640GB drive. It’s all I need really. The folding nodes only have crappy 40GB drives. It is my media center that is loaded up with storage. It’s got a couple 1.5TB drives inside, a little 30GB drive external ( for bringing home files I download at work ), and a NAS storage device with dual 500GB drives. I’m over half cpacity now though so I may have to swap out the 500GB drives with 1.5TB or more drives someday. Damned blu ray movies take up a lot of space.

20" HD Widescreen monitor, getting a 27" HD widescreen soon.

9800 GTX 295
Realtek HD Audio
Intel Dual Cores @ 2.7 GHz
Can’t be fucked to remember the certain model of my motherboard.
232 GB of Internal memory.
3 GB of RAM

Note: Getting a new Processor soon.

Huh. I don’t have the same chair as everyone else, but I DO have that Sony stereo system you have setup with your computer. That thing puts out a fair amount of sound

As for my system, I can’t post a picture because I’m at work at the moment, but here are the specifications:

  • Antec 900
  • Asus Crosshair
  • AMD X2 6000+
  • 2GB GSkill DDR2
  • eVGA 8800GT
  • 80GB OS Drive (WD)
  • 250GB Storage (WD)
  • 750GB External (WD)
  • Creative Audigy 2 ZS Gamer
  • NEC 3500A DVD
  • PC P&C 610W Silencer
  • Creative 7.1 Surround (T8700s or such, only using 5.1 though)
  • Logitech MX518 Mouse (awesome mouse)
  • Microsoft Natural Keyboard (a la 1990s, love the shape)

Are you saying you have a 9800gtx, and a gtx 295? Imma confused. Otherwise I’ve never heard of a 9800GTX 295

It’s probably a 295GTX, but the guy thinks that it’s somehow related to the 9800 series due to the GTX prefix.

I don’t need to make sense right now, I’m sick >:c.

P.S. It’s 9800 GTX.
