Portal update. Possible Portal 2 teaser?

Not really, either you’re an old trashy rust hump or a DERPY DERP-bot

I prefer trashy rusty robots over derp-bots.

They are cute :3

90% of the things they post are stuff that’s been on the internet for years now

So wait, could Chell be the daughter of one of the workers at Aperture Science? I don’t know if that’s what they’re hinting at when they say “The untested AI is activated for the first time as one of the planned activities on Aperture’s first annual bring-your-daughter-to-work day.”

Good feature though. I’m liking these

I really doubt GLaDOS was going door to door on the outside (which is being invaded by combine) looking for new female test subjects. I hope she’s really Cave Johnson’s daughter.

they intended for her to be an unnamed protagonist, but the community has reallt personified her by identifying her as chell, and also giving her life, so who knows what they have planned for her in portal 2.

EDIT: what’s up with Gameinformer saying that EA is the publisher?

EA was the publisher of the Orange Box, what’s your point?

The timeline thingo answers a few questions.

For the 360 & PS3, not the PC, correct?

Haha, the diagram of the turret is fucking awesome!

EA’s really good at that kinda shizz.

EA handle retail, Valve handle digital distribution through Steam.
So EA publish for all platforms at retail.

Any idea what the shower curtain thing is about? Not really getting what thats about.

Oh wow, nice pager starter.
I’ve missed the last week or two of Portal updates and thought you were insulting another forum member

Uhhh what’s not to get? Aperture Science started out making shower curtains for the military (except the Navy). When ApSci wanted to pursue other research topics (that is, portals), their proposal got rejected, until they told the military it had a “possible application as a shower curtain”. Then they got plenty of money  It’s really just a joke about the way the government/military handles their funding.

Ah ok, have a hard time understanding things… I took shower curtains as in something to “Hide behind the curtains”

I always just thought this was a way of giving us a time reference while playing. Glados mentions this work day in the game, so, it must mean that our awakening coincides somewhat with the bring-your-daughter day. just to show us that Glados has only recently been activated and gone rogue

No way, Portal takes place way after Bring your Daughter to work day, or else the Behind the Scenes wouldn’t be so rusty and fucked up. She mentions Bring Your Daughter To Work Day as an allusion to the game’s untold background.

Yeah, I didn’t say otherwise. But since they say that the testing of GLaDOS coincided with the ‘bring your daughter to work day,’ it’s possible that GLaDOS wrought havoc and then found the children and took them away as future test subjects. They would have been kept in isolation in an incubation chamber - it would explain Chell’s age and the fact that the world outside is so messed up.

It’s far-fetched but possible.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
