I remember that but never participated, don’t remember hearing anything NES cartridges though. Probably not the same project, but everything from your Dial-up, phone, fax, etc where used.
Apparently some people from various gaming mags participated but where too scared shitless too carry on. I think some people carried on but got bored.
Yah the nes thing was probably from something else. (Possible a less scary one) But I do remember a game that involved some one gaining access to a PO/safety deposit box (or something similar) and inside was a NES game cart that the game creators some how managed to reprogram.
Also yah, that scary one was just a couple years before my time to participate so everything I herd from it was from older family. Sounds like it would be fun. (common game publishers, that would have been a great promotional gig for a game like heavy rain)
When you end up above ground, a robot says “thank you for assuming the party position”, then you get dragged away. I had a minor meltdown when it happened.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
