That’s what I’m planning to do.
But most likely the fucking thing will cost 71€ brand new. Fucking taxes.

Doesn’t it work the other way round?
It’s exclusive to the PS3 versions as far as I know.
Nope. With PS3’s Portal you basically gonna get Steam on console; cloud saves, mods, steam friends, even PC-PS3 coop, all cross-platform.
Yeah, it’s few $ more, but having one game on two systems is worth it.
You’re gonna get Steamworks features on the PS3 but not Steam itself, that’s something people are having a hard time realizing.
Steamworks ≠ Steam client
You can have Steamworks on a game without having to use Steam.
Yeah, you right.
Half Life 3
Possibly, but I wouldn’t hold my breathe on it.
Is their any reason for PS3 owners to not buy it for the PS3? I have been weighing this up quite a bit. As I rule I only buy Valve games for the PC, but I am getting both versions for only an extra tenner by buying the PS3 version. I can’t help thinking that it is almost too good to be true. Valve hated the PS3 before, and the ports EA did were unspeakably bad. Now, suddenly, we have Steamworks’ features in the pipeline, cross-platform co-op and both versions of the game in the box. What the hell?!
It’s called redemption.
I’d have to go to the store and get it.
Valve no longer hates the PS3. They hated it before because it was hard to code for and the system of distribution (PSN) sucked. Now they don’t hate it because Sony will let them use Steam on it.
Coding on PS3 isn’t any harder than coding for other systems, it’s just different, therefore it need investments. But now those can come back as revenue, not only from sales, but also thanks to further promoting Steam in such clever way. It could never happen on Xbox, because of its subscription based XboxLive.
No, it is a more time requiring/difficult process because the PS3 CPU set up. Sony’s API just adds the different into the mix making it worse.
Guess that’s the reason PS3 got most sophisticated games on market. Seriously though, it might be hard to someone who grow up programing on PC and similar systems at first, but not like it’s just broken. But definitely it require individual approach, which not every company can afford. Thankfully, our friends at Valve can.
?
Uncharted 2, Killzone 3, God of War 3 - masterpieces in each category one can think - graphic, design, gameplay; but most definitely programing. Not everyone must like them, but non can argue those are very advanced programs, and were made on so called “broken” system.
QQ: AFAIK Pre-Order have a copy of Portal.
But how about “Two Pack”?! Steam store didn’t said anything about Two Pack.
I have Portal 1 my-self. But i want to buy an additional copy of Portal 2 and Portal 1 for my friend too. So i want to know if i need to buy it separately or not!?
tnx
With the PS3 - PC alliance for serious gamers, and the Wii available still for casuals, I predict Xbox will fade out slowly, like it is doing already.
Somehow I doubt it. 360 is strong among the brogamer demographic (read: idiot demographic). Its not going anywhere.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
