Portal 2 Confirmed!

Yes! Valve confirmed to IGN this morning that Portal 2 is coming and is set for release this holiday.
Valve did not say what platforms it would be released on yet, but GameStop said that this game its for Xbox 360 and PC.

Gamestop’s listing for the title brings new information. According to the product page, the game “introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers,” it reads.
“Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.”

GameStop currently lists the title for Xbox 360 and PC. No PS3 version is coming.
The title is due out on October 26, 2010, though that release date may not be final.
It’s also a full retail release. The Xbox 360 version is $59.99, while PC is $49.99.

I think this is all a spoof. There’s no way that ARG would hype Portal 2, for them to release it in October. (Around 8 months later)

am i the only one who noticed valve massively boosted the price? i love portal but jesus $59.99!? that a hulleva lot more than the first titles 20 bucks. mabye vavle just know people will pay but i gotta say it seems like a low blow after the first games pricing

I think that the first Portal game was cheap probably due to it’s content… which wasn’t much. I bet and I hope that the sequel will have more to it and that’s why it costs more money.

Its possible the first game was a proof-of-concept. Everybody enjoyed it so the game idea is being expanded upon.

I do like seeing all the nay-sayers on this thread; “its a april fools (despite being march)”, “its a spoof”
-Its almost like this whole week of hype leading up to this announcement was all a ruse

Looks like they are releasing a page of each of their 12 page article on set release days. Should be interesting to see what the first page is like
