From what I understand the more potatoes collected the more of an effect game time will have, so it should go faster and faster as more potatoes are collected. Also, it looks like to me that completing the wonderful end of the world gave us some hours off the “projected launch”. So everybody should just focus on the kick it game as completing it’s bar will speed up the launch.
I’m getting sick of this whole potato thing though. It’s cool and all, but if Valve is already ready to release the game, then why the fuck not do it? I’d much rather get an amazing game on a Saturday when I can actually play it than get it on a Tuesday where I can’t play it at all.
Its Valve’s way of making more money.
“Real worldclass money-making business”
It’s funny that buying a game makes it harder to complete the process. The overall needed playing hours are bound to the number of sold copies of the game. That’s why Killing floor is so low and the other unknown/new indie games are filling faster.
Everybody look at your steam friends’ profiles. If they don’t have a potato tell them to join nelipot.
No one buy any more potato sack games. It’s calculated by # bought vs. time played, any new purchases will just set back the clock.
Cant VALVe give us the darned game, it’s finished anyways. These last days are just to annoy us anyways…
I was thinking this the whole last month.
You’re right, actually. We spend almost a year of waiting for this game, so what the problem with some miserable 3 days? Not to mention they delayed it for 2 months.
My biggest problem is that it will be released on a weekday when I can’t play it much.
maybe there’ll be a surprise, I mean Valve mastered to surprise us quite nicely. I have the feeling an earlier release won’t be all there is to all this commotion. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking though…
Hopefully the community can push the release a little, i wanted to play the coop in one run through with a friend of mine but i have to stand up early the whole weak. Well I always say: One has to choose his priorities.
sidenote: got the amnesia potato. i can’t play this game, it’s too scary :x
my friend has Defense Grid but he doesn’t want to open steam or give me his password
Well https://www.aperturescience.com (which is owned by Valve) says its been moved forward only 2 hours (at the point I wrote this), so I’m going to have to believe their values over some random British website.
Aperture science is telling you how much we’ve bumped the release date forward at this time. The user made ones tell you how much the release date will be bumped forward by the end of the ARG.
Welcome to life, where the great majority of major releases are on workdays in any case
Well based on the progress bar, the game will release on the 19th, instead of the 19th! Progress!
Don’t pay attention to that one. As of a minute ago, the game is releasing 1.02 days ahead of schedule.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
