Pleasant surprise of the day!

This thread is about stuff that pleasantly surprised you today!

So, go ahead and post stuff that surprised you in a positive way!

I’ll start:

Apparently I still had BB King’s Ultimate Collection in my CD tray of my computer, it had been in there for quite a while (at least a month or two) but I forgot about it (I was actually looking for it a few weeks ago).

Anyway, In decided to play Half-Life (again) and was pleasantly surprised when, instead of the HL soundtrack, I hear some kickass blues. Pro-thing to start the day with!

im alive stil

someone shouted fatboy from a car at me when i was on the way to co op where i saw the best dog in the world it was a bit perplexing cuz im slightly underweight if anything

There wasn’t any snow or ice on the ground because the temperature never dropped below freezing like it was supposed to last night

I woke up in my bed and was still drunk… but at least I still had all my things…

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that ISPs can ask Google to answer requests for AAAA records.

I might have native IPv6 reachability to Google, soon

On an entirely unrelated note, I was less pleasantly surprised when I discovered that I just nuked the RDP-connection to my PC with no means of bringing it up again :’( Now I have to go home to enable it again.

One of the two packages I expected has arrived today, which is either a Pink Floyd or a jazz LP :awesome:

I saw a car crash.

I get it quite a lot too - I particularly enjoy that all you hear is “BWAAAaarghhhhhh” as they go past, and they seem to enjoy it immensely. It must be quite comforting to be a fucking cretin.

Oh, yes. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t crush somebody’s face with my keyboard today.

Elaborate on that please.

Bah, it was work. I work with perhaps the single most irritating woman on the planet. She has the ability to make me feel simultaneously fucking useless yet appear so fucking dim that I have to swallow my pride and help her. And she moans. Jesus H. Christ does she moan. I’m aware of the hypocrisy, but when all you can hear is how shit her day is all the fucking time, it does nothing for your ‘sense of calm’.

Today, I was in a particularly foul mood, because I hadn’t had much sleep and she chose this morning to be extremely loud, sweary and moan-y. If it wasn’t for the fact that my keyboard wire wouldn’t reach, she’d be swallowing the F keys.

I was pleasantly surprised that my parents bought cola today, which usually never happens.

So I proceeded to steal the whole bottle.

None of the surprises I have gotten so far today have been pleasant…

Would you believe it, Sas? I was just walking back from the shops and a car full of scally shitheads drove past and all I heard was: “BWAAAaarghhhhhh”

I’d love to do a David Attenborough style documentary on these guys, just to prove that they actually do procreate rather than spawn out of the collective spit of other scallies outside Tesco.

Disregard that, I have lost my shoes :frowning:

I was pleasently surprised to find out that SAT tests are now piss easy so there is still a slim chance of me being admitted a good American uni despite my average marks.

…bloody hell. Pleasant surprise, not so much, eh?

I found all of my old Age of Empires games (1+expansion, 2+expansion, AoM) that have been missing for a few years inside a refrigerator that doesn’t work anymore. I think my sister hid them in there shortly after it stopped working, placing these games missing for six years now.

I found the notes on Prometheus that I lost last week, so now I can present them to my Latin class. Just in time considering the semester is about to end.
