GET ON THE BALL! :3
My faith in it just went up. If we did this to every guy that was trolling, these forums would be 98% more awesome.
EDIT, nevemind, I missed a page
Sorry. He was already taken care of by the time I got here. Besides, we have other trolls coming off bans soon. Go play with them.
And…why not? Where’s the harm in me doing so? Obviously if its something physical, like a car or a house, then no. But if its something like a game, which has no actual material value when you download it off the internet, then why? Why should I deprive myself of the joy from video games because the game companies over here can’t make their games a reasonable price (i.e. what the rest of the world pays)?
/ontopic
The games are at a high price because game development cost a shit load of money.
They are offering you a service. If you do not pay for that service, you have no right to use that service.
Since one of the justifications of not pirating is that it doesn’t give money to the devs.
Do you ( those against piracy) consider it immoral to purchase cheap - second hand games (in which case no money goes to the devs)?
No more than it is to sell/give away used DVDs, VHS tapes, etc.
Doesn’t make piracy any better, though.
Question to the anti-piracy people:
When I work, I get paid for the job I actually do. When people sell things like games, computer programs, movies, CDs, they are making duplicated money. I’ll explain:
A band performs and the record industry creates an album. That album is duplicated a million times. The record industry gets paid a million times for that one piece of work. Why should they get paid a million times for doing one thing?
Just curious.
Because it’s a business.
Using that logic, why should Valve get paid for making one game, and creating multiple copies of that same game to sell? Because it’s what they do.
Supply and demand, it’s the basis for our economy.
Sure, it might be unfair, but life is unfair. In cases like this, you need to drop the “Average Person vs Big Evil Corporations” vibe that most pirates have. For fuck’s sake, it’s not like they’re “Shinra.”
Coca-Cola also produced millions of bottles/cans of Coke, people pay for each and every bottle or can as well.
Unless they re-invent Coke for each and every bottle or can, of course.
I don’t pay for every can of coke, I also steal a few every time.
