Pickup and Throw Combat?

To be even more specific, IIRC your standard arsenal is ineffective as well.

I used to kill gargs with explosives (grenades, satchels) in original HL. Pretty easy…

I just ran like hell…

Uncool :frowning:

sorry for the ridiculously late reply, but clearly you’ve never had to take down a- excuse me, Two antlion guards using the crowbar, am I right?

One antlion has no chances to win if i use crowbar

It sucks! :frowning:

Erm, what about the other parts in Black Mesa where you encounter Gargantuas? If you don’t happen to have environment-specific events available.

Or are you implementing those events anywhere?

Obviously they’re going to make it possible to kill them :expressionless:

Whenever they decide to put a gargantua in the game, they will also include a environment-specific event. They aren’t going to spawn a gargantua without providing you with an acceptable environment in which it can be to killed.

Unless, of course, the intent of certain gargantua encounters is to force you to run away. Most likely however, there will always be a way to kill them.

Why they need invent a bicycle? Garg was kilble in HL1 so why can’t it be that way in BMS?

Because the devs decided against that, perhaps to take advantage of the diversity utilized with the source engine.

By the way, does anybody know whether there is a defined way to kill the Gargantua in the tunnel in the chapter “Interloper”? Or could you only kill it with your weapons or run away?

wrong chapter

Whoops. Don’t know how I missed that.

Well, If I remember correctly, I pretty easily tricked the garg into running into a bunch of those xen trees, which slowly beat it to death. I tried for so long to trick it into getting whacked by the tentacles to no avail. :frowning: I would love to see it wrap around the garg and squeeze it to death, or maybe drag it under the slime that it peaks out of & drown it.

I’m pretty sure you were just supposed to run away from that one.

Im too lazy to investigate, but I believe there is an incident during surface tenstion…in a parking garage…with a garg. IIRC it gets annihilated by some bombs.

Am i thinking of Op4?

There is this part in HL. I killed that garg with satchels. And also there is a garg in XEN which must be killed with those.
