My friend works at a lab here in town where he injects monkeys in their eyeballs with test-medicine. I have no idea of the specifics other than it being gross and a little funny.
Sounds like the usual PeTA BS to me, obviously they want people to have the mental image of an innocent human child when they are looking at an animal that survives by instinctively reacting to stimuli from birth until death.
Let’s make an organization for the ethical treatment of house cleaning robots, they do the same thing animals do.

Animals were invented to provide us food, warmth and entertainment. If you start treating them like people, then where does the line stand? When do we become the animals, uh? Just think about it.
I think there’s a difference between intentionally torturing an animal versus harming an animal. Animals killing other animals for food is natural. A lion in the wild wouldn’t think twice about running down a PETA vegan or a meat-eating person. (And the vegans might be tastier.)
