here’s the deal:
I broke 1 pin in the CPU socket, so I had to get a new MB. Not a big deal really, got it pretty cheap.
The problem is, now the system won’t start the OS, the BIOS works just fine, the system recognises the HDD an RAM, but when it gets to loading windows, it just doesn’t (it doesn’t even show the Windows XP logo with the loading bar)
safe mode doesn’t work any better.
So I tried booting from a Windows CD, it loaded all the files, but when it got to “setup is starting windows”, it just seemingly froze.
Any ideas as to what is the problem? thanks in advance.

[COLOR=‘LightBlue’]Pressed F5 at the start of the setup to manually specify HAL and chose ONE OF THE FUCKING HIDDEN OPTIONS, WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING NOT DISPLAYING ALL THE OPTIONS AND LEAVING PEOPLE TO WONDER IF MAYBE THEY SHOULD SELECT THE OPTION THAT IS NOT ACTUALLY THERE, I MEAN WHAT THE FUCK??? :fffuuu::fffuuu::fffuuu:

Ok, so I selected “Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC” and the everything was fine. Couldn’t repair the old OS though, hung at “installing devices”, so I set up a fresh one! Yay for me!
