Maybe, but don’t mac’s let you add more HDDs and RAM? They are built to last too and they do not really get that slow.
This very iMac is 4 years old and is still bullet fast running Snow Leopard w/ Adobe CS4, C4D and Maya. Period.
Oh well, you are a little hypocrite as well.
For windows? No shit.
And I’d also have dock over start bar anytime.
There is no logic in your posts, only nonsense made up by yourself, including above quoted. Seriously all of your “hu-hu-hu, mac has a cool marketing campaign so only fools buy its products” is absolute inane childish bullshit.
Ok, listen up, garthbartin. For three posts already, all I do is pointing out that your “arguments” hold absolutely no reason or logic to them, are not convincing by iota and are, in fact, blatant hateful lies. If you got butthurt in the process, it’s none of my interest.
I’ve already said everything.
EDIT:
Which is absolutely wrong. All high-end mainstream programs are cross platform. Plus there is a shitton more freeware apps which are much better than their windows counterparts.
I’m afraid you don’t know much more then that.
iPhoto was made for basic image editing. Photoshop is available on mac.
This just in. Autodesk is bringing AutoCAD back to the Mac.
Is it me, or is Windows losing its “exclusives”? Steam pops up, quite a few game developers follow Valve and are starting to port/develop for Mac. Now AutoCAD is joining the party at Jobs’ place. I expect quite a few of design agencies/architects/engineers to drop their PC’s all together and go for Mac.
If only Adobe would come back to Mac :<[/SIZE]
The way I see it, Windows and Mac will eventually merge into a single OS that is both fancy looking and easy to use, and supported by the great majority of software developers.
Well you COULD, but Spotlight/Search Bar is a billion times faster than a standard search.
My point is that Windows introduced exactly the same feature. Like, exactly the same one. Except that Gadgets clutter up your desktop, whereas Dashboard doesn’t.
I’m sorry, but this is just wrong. The best example I can think of is PCSX, Mupen64 and SixtyForce. If you are telling me that Apple officially sanctioned emulators to run on Mac, then please provide me with some evidence, because I would be extraordinarily surprised.
Nothing particular, but I prefer the way it does all the things it does.
…Okay, stop being a dick. Look at the bottom of your screen. That little bar across the bottom with little icons of programs. That, right there, is a dock.
The point of the green plus button is to fill your screen with all of the content in the window; its aimed to stop filling your desktop with unnecessary dead space from programs. If you’re upset about that, it can be fixed in about 5 minutes. I personally don’t really care, but Cinch is a nice added bonus.
That, to me, is a key difference between Mac and Windows. Dashboard on a Mac is part of my workspace. It has a widget for my WakeonLan program, and two twitter feeds that I maintain for two different groups. It provides seamless access to programs that I don’t have to spend time finding and loading. If on Windows it is merely a gimmick, then surely that is an argument against Windows and for Mac.
The Dock, as well, is a key part of the Mac workspace. Of course, if you hate it, then you can change it to keep it minimised all the time and just have shortcuts on your desktop and the Apps folder pinned to the dock in list mode to find all your favourite programs. I just don’t think many people hate it, and its actually functional and useable. I rarely go anywhere near my Apps folder.
HA! Sure sure. You’re the one who called Australia “ass-backwards” for not being important enough to enter into the Zune’s distribution market. You, my friend, are an ad hominem personified.
Oh, I made him shut the fuck up. Finally.
Also, props to loony for mentioning Cinch. Installed it - fucking awesome.
not faster, just quicker and more ergonomical.
They have not discontinued the whole mac suite.
Me: “What can Macintosh do that Windows can’t?”
loony636: “Nothing.”

Me: quick look:

And it really is what it is. Quick look. Slap the space bar and voila.
Stop being fucking homosexuals.
So, what, exactly, is that doing?
Have you watched the video?
It succeeds where Windows’ preview pane fail: instant previewing. New finder even plays (literally) icons.
I’m sorry, but my preview pane shows instant previewing.
Yet it’s functionality isn’t comparable to finder’s quick look in any way.
And quick look has always worked flawlessly while many Vista and 7 users still have complaints about preview pane.
I don’t see how its functionality is any different than the preview pane (which has always worked flawlessly for me).
I’ll go and say that I know better. Period.
If you say so.
PS, no ODB, you did not make me STFU, I’ve simply decided to ignore you. Our argument became both of us repeating the same points over and over and you throwing in insults so there was no point in continuing it.
 It’s evident that you simply haven’t a leg to stand on anymore, so you left like a little bitch.
The only person you have now here to try and brainfuck is loony, since he clearly isn’t capable to defend his points properly.
Whatever, kid, I didn’t see your stupid face around here for quite a while, so I’m satisfied.
See how fast two reasonable people can agree
Look what Mac vs PC discussions can do to people!
I am still trying to comprehend why this abomination even exists.
So yeah, everyone’s a fag.
