I recently bought a new pc. When I turn it on I first see a picture of the motherboard and after that I get the message: ‘‘boot disk failure insert system disk and press enter’’. So I insert my win7 disk and press enter. No effect as I get the same message again. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
It’s having trouble booting from any of your drives, what does it say in the boot menu? If you haven’t yet formatted, have the dvd drive as the boot device and begin the windows 7 install. after you have a bootable windows 7 installation you should be able to boot off your HDD.
OK, I’ll try that and see if it works.
Make sure your windows disc is in the PC when you see the picture of the motherboard on the screen.
Press F8 or F10 or F12 to open the boot menu.
If that doesn’t work, try DEL to enter setup and change the boot order manually.
I tried selecting CD through the boot menu but alas… Sersoft I do not have any experience changing the boot order manually. Is it a hard thing to do?
Not really, the BIOS should list all your devices and tell you which keys you need to press to make the adjustment.
If it failed to boot upon selecting CD from the boot menu, I think there might be a problem with the disc or the disc drive. Check that all the sata/power cables are properly connected to the device.
Did your motherboard come with an instruction manual if it id read it. It should tell you exactly what to do.
Yes that seemed to be the problem. It’s working fine now and I’m using my new PC at the very moment! Thanks sersoft!
I’m here to help, sometimes.
