Hey guys,

I pop in here time to time, and am big fan of BM… Just thought i’d share with you the mod i’m currently working on in the hope you’ll like the look of it and follow its development :slight_smile:

In the year 2014, one man discovered time travel. Humanity rejoiced, but paid the price. Beings from another world came for the technology, while the same man was tasked with saving all that existed.

That’s the basic outline of the story, just wondered what you think of it? (It had been inspired by various H. G. Wells books.

No offense, but the plot sounds terrible. Sounds like a generic plot that attempts to be epic and utterly fails. Also, 2012? Really? That’s 4 years away, shit isn’t gonna change that much in 4 years.

This looks OK but the idea of Martians seems clichéd to me. I know you’re inspired by H.G. Wells but I think you should call them something else.
Also, I think you should release the first part as soon as it’s finished otherwise you’ll get discouraged.

To answer your question: Your story outline, as you’ve written it here, sounds mediocre and you should definitely work on it.

It’s a video game so I don’t mind a slightly cliché story, but there’s not much we can say until we’ve seen some progress. Many mods get started, make some initial progress and then fall apart and never get released. Just make sure you’re not aiming for something way too hard to do, and keep in mind that doing this as a hobby is extremely difficult. The guys at Valve get payed for it and there are tons of people working on their games, and even like that they get delayed like a year each time, and they take very long to do anything.

If humans stumbled upon time travel 6 years from, how would a advanced space-faring race not have this technology? Fix the story.

Maybe its a race that have no technology of thier own, have no means of making this technology and steal everything they have, just as the op has said, they have come to steal it.

It sounds interesting. Good luck with this project, i hope you have the stamina to go all the way.

Some more info on what you plan to do with the actual game play would be good. IE special weapons or some sort of special useful game tool to make it different to just a shooter. Some sort of hand device maybe to slow down time like Singularity ? Or is it just a shooter ?

Isn’t that the plot of some Star Trek TNG episode? Minus the time travel part, which I don’t know how you would incorporate that into the plot of the game.
