Overheating problems

Damn :frowning:

Why is DDR2 so much more expensive than DDR3?

Looks like supply and demand.

Exactly. It’s not the standard anymore, I built my system using cheaper components, but that means it’s a ddr2 base :S

When I asked my friend where he got such a good deal on RAM to be able to sell it to me for 15$, he said that he randomly found it while breaking into a shitty honda civic.

edit: DAT EDIT SERSOFT

I always re-re-re edit my posts, I only read after I post because the text box is too distracting

Me too

but meh

While those max temps are high, I doubt the PC would shut down due to it, as its been mentioned, at around 91, the cpu downclocks, it wont shutdown till 105 in most cases.

I´ve also noticed those temps dont display the temp of the MCP which tends to run hotter than the cpu on a 775 chipset. Download the trial version of AIDA64 (Formerly everest) which will show the temps of the MCP aside from others. That sounds more likely the reason for the shutdown, and also you might not have changed the paste on that, nor shoudl you need to normally but there you go : )

Finally got the cooler, and here’s what Realtemp is showing me:

Good y/n?

I can’t see the pic.

Better now?

nope. 403 error.

Is this better?

Yes.

Those look fine, although it would be good to see how it performs under stress.

Whip out the prime95!

And run it for 48 hours or more!
