Outside Aperture

no, beyond black mesa sucked

or, it was good, but not very half-lifeish

Agreed, they screw it. Yamakasi-Shepherd, ninja-combine, zombies without headcrabs on their heads, inaccurate setting and most important letting down such character like Shepherd. And getting rid of him in such a horrible way. And a love story? Don’t make me laugh. This “fan-film” makes me facepalm many times. I for one don’t understand why Valve decided to add this to their favorites, while City 17 is more superior to it in many aspects.

You gotta be kidding. C17 is just 3 people and some CGI. BBM actually has a story and makes sense.

You’re missing the point, City 17 was more related to HL than Back to Black Mesa will ever be, that’s what makes City 17 so awesome. BBM was a huge disappointment.

BBM wasn’t very good. Too much propaganda for an average movie.

Mainly, Shepard. Even those who played and didn’t like Opposing Force could see that there’s nothing even remotely that remembers Adrian. It was just a commom resistance guy. To a trained HECU (and looks like the BBM producers forget about that), the non use of military tatics (and I’m not saying that they should have searched for ones - they could at least got them from action movies like Predator) really pissed me off. He just ran and ran, even planting traps (military knows how to do it) were too much for him.

EDIT: For some reason, I though Shepard to have a more mature behaviour when dealing with the combine. He just acted like a civilian who has a gun just because it’s revolution, like the other two. Of course, it’s clear that they received a basic training, but Shepard was supposed to act like the veteran guy leading the other two. He’s a trained soldier after all, and, on Opposing Force, everytime you talked to a soldier, the general answer “, sir”.

And the love story and how they died? Words aren’t enough to show my dissapointment.

BTW: WHERE ARE HIS KNIFE AND WRENCH?

Yeah I was wondering if I was the only person screaming: WHERE ARE THE FUCKING HEADCRABS!?
I admire the effort though

Edit: On the behalf of outside aperture, I nerded all over the floor.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
