Figurehead or not, none of us intelligent, informed, incredibly presumptuous folks have any idea of the sort of operation they had going on to this point. If the US military with all the god damned money we give them could barely catch him after nearly 10 years of rabid searching and the support of a completely bloodthirsty public of hundreds of millions of people, the actual operations of the terrorist network and the subsequent repercussions of this event are as far from our knowledge as is the true nature of the universe.
Practicalities aren’t what’s important here.
This killing symbolizes in a public sense the WTC disaster avenged. It’s going to heal the American Psyche in a profound way that was never certain, and leading up to this point, thought to be unreachable. There was almost an understanding he did in fact get away with it, he didn’t- he’s dead, American or American Allied hands did the killing and it’s going to be a massive thing for us Americans.
So, without regards to the political situation none of us really have any good insight, or indeed baring or influence on, I’m riding the bandwagon and I’m happy as a clam.
