Opposing Force Crash

Hello,
I have a Problem with Opposing Force. Everytime when i want to enter the room where Gordon is teleporting to Xen, my Game crashes and i can do nothing (luckily i have 2 monitors so i can kill the HL.exe in TaskManager). It just happes when I push the button for the door.
I have tried to reinstall it but thath doesnt helped. I have tried to noclip in the room (without pushing the door button), but everytime I enter the room from another site, the game crashes again. So I cant get to the Teleporter for the next map. When I want to skip the Map (“map x” in console) I have no weapons. I hope you can help me and sorry for my bad english, im from German^^.

€: Forgotten my Sys:
AMD Phenom 4x2,95GHz
nVidia Gforce GTX 260
nVidia Gforce 8600 GT for PhysX
Corsair Dominator Ram DDR2 (810 MHz, CL4)
Windows XP

Change your video mode, that may help.

I’ve had the same problem bugging me the last couple of years, never bothered to fix it though.

it’s a well known bug. you have to avoid looking at the teleporter, try to enter the room backwards in noclip

didn’t helped, sry…
tried all 3 Renderers, 1280x1024 and 1024x786, at 16 or 32Bit

Thank you sersoft
This helped

€: Oups, Double Post sry ^^

I’m sorry, but that is one AWESOME workaround

oh that bug, that’s been known of since the age of dinosaurs. Valve updated it I believe and since then it crashes at that moment

I thought they fixed this glitch almost three years ago?

I just played through Opposing Force and had no problems whatsoever.

Me, too. I’ve never heard of this bug. But as ManlyStump said that workaround is awesome.

Shall have to try that workaround, was getting frustrated at it crashing constantly.

or just download the standalone non steam version with the original menus like in WON hl

I have blueshift, opforce and hl with one standalone folder.
