Opposing Force 2 official Demo released

heh

You hate it this much ?

because it’s bad

Fixed the problem, it was just because I was using internet explorer. works fine on google chrome.

Because IE is the [/SIZE]

why would you even double click on iexplore.exe… the only time I ever use it is on getfirefox.com and 80% of the time it drops the 10mb file halfway and I have to start over.

A demo is supposed to make you want to play the final game, which theirs did anything but.

They released a really shitty sandbox map to watch npcs fight in, an unfinished multiplayer map with no multiplayer & a single player map that sucked horribly both in gameplay & aesthetics. All of the new models, animations & misc. effects that weren’t recycled from valve games varied between average & absolutely terrible/broken.

Seen that way it sure looks like shit.

Ok, the night vision got stuck and I couldn’t toggle it off. I also couldn’t switch weapons in the crossfire map and the free play arena map and I couldn’t fire the grenade with my SMG in the actual demo level. Also the RPG laser and HUD image saying that ammo is full is distorted and I can see only half of it.
Overall it looked pretty decent, but it didn’t really gain my interest, probably just because I’m getting sick of anything HL2 and combine and am more interested in the Half-Life 1 and Half-Life: Opposing Force versions itself.

NOW do we all see why the BM devs are so cautious about releasing anything about the mod too early?

What did you think of the demo? You never expressed your opinion about it, & I’d love to know why people would like it other than the standard; it’s a work in progress, it’s free, at least it’s got new weapons & monsters, which seems to be all the positive aspects I hear about it.

I tried copying it to the sourcemods folder and restarting steam but I’m still getting nothing under my steam list… Any further help available?

Do you have half-life 2 episode 2 and source sdk 2007 installed?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
