Operation Lambda mod

So I’ve discovered this mod like 2 years ago, and it did not had a single update through those 2 years.I’ve also noticed forums posts, but those were just spam bots :frowning: .Anyone knows if this mod is still alive?

It’s still open. I think it’s pointless to ask as you know about as much as the rest of us, unless one of the devs/project leaders is lurking around here.
Also I don’t think it warrants it’s own topic, maybe in there https://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?t=14509

Remember how many naysayers thought BM to be dead, I wouldn’t give up yet.
I dig some of their concepts, amazing.

That was directly ignoring evidence to the contrary, though. In this case, there’s significant reason to believe that the mod might really be dead, eg the (purported) complete lack of updates.

Looking now at their twitter, facebook and youtube account, not to mention random forum spam, yeah ur right… it’s dead. Someone should contact the project leader and ask what happened, as it looked promising.

It’s possible that they simply didn’t communicate well enough and lacked motivation, to the point that they just stopped talking and the project died.

I’ve seen it happen many, many times.

1 year ago I’ve commented on one of their videos saying it was dead.
After some weeks one of the developers replied with this:

“I’m sorry to dissapoint you but it’s very much alive. Right now we are still working on fine tuning the story but production on the first chapter has begun. Right now our primary focus is on developing the game instead of posting media. More media will be released of course. I can’t really tell you more at this time.”

&

“After the first two media releases we went into planning mode again to finish up the story… Then we had some team members who just dissapeared without a word. Now we focus on actually getting some progress done but don’t worry… You will get more media from us. I hope this was a decent enough answer for you… I’m not a very good public speaker.”

But I don’t believe the first sentence though.I think Black Mesa had much more media then they had.

When I was leaving the team it was pretty much inactive. Supposedly they were planning to do some major changes and scrap almost everything that has been done in the past 2 years. They also planned to add more people to the team. I don’t think everything went as they planned…

Scrapping everything and starting over is a great way to kill any kind of project.

Sounds like they’re following my school of mod design. I’ve restarted my mod twice. The new version should stick though.

I believe the mod leader had said himself that the mod has died.

Well that sucks :frowning: .
And since its a HL universe related mod, they wont release their reached assets :/.

I don’t follow. Why wouldn’t they?

I’ve seen a lot of leaders of HL remakes (including BMS), prequels etc. stating that they wont release their assets if it gets canceled.

I was one of the Level Designers for the OpLam mod. Operation Lambda is officially dead. Atleast from us original designers and our lead developer Shaktal.

How it comes that the website is still online?

Maybe thay already payed in advance for their site, or its a secret project :o

I have seen that. I honestly could not tell you. Maybe he is using the site as a refrence of work.

ohai stuntz

oplam reunion thread up in this bitch

good news y’all

it’s alive

Does it have more than 2 people on the team? :stuck_out_tongue:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
