Operation Black Mesa (Opposing Force: Source)

I disagree with you:
an important part of modding work(if we can call it so…) is create an a community around it.
They should hire a PR guy and leave to him the community updates and other stuff…
Imagine how many ways there are to involve a community:
community contest.
multiplayer meetings.
screenshots contest.

facebook it’s a powerful tool to get people involved.
They should take inspiration by nmrih and cof:

Maybe they’ll give you an update if you bribe them with a painting. :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree. You’d think people on the Black Mesa forums, of all places, would understand this.

There’s gonna be an update soonishly™.

Awesome! If OBM and GD are at a similar quality level to BM and some of the community projects I’ve seen around here (like the one guy completing Surface Tension by himself, he’s awesome, you should try to get him on your team if you need any more people and he’s willing), then I know that I’ll be, as the G-Man would say, impressed.

Awesome!

Nice Gabe Newell reference there.

They should ‘hire’ a PR guy, with what money? To hire someone that takes care of their news feed, makes sure that they don’t say or show off anything “bad” costs a ton of money. That’s just unrealistic.

Money?
Who said money?

Look at nmrih dev team, they have a pr guy.
I seriously doubt that he get a dime for his “job”.

Edit: just checked on nmrih website: they have 2 pr

You did, you said ‘hire’.

and it’s entirely impossible for him to have meant that figuratively

The thing is that we don’t want to give all our media/files to a person that only does the pr. We want to keep the persons with a copy of the mod at a very low percentage.

And keep an eye on our moddb pages in the near future …

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
