What do you guys think?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGdecNDDr9g
old stuff already discussed in here.
but whatever imo i think it will be a big revolution but the only thing that im concerned is about mods and skins because since the games will be on a seperate computer, how you gonna play mods and install skins?
certified content will be uploaded to the servers of course , u think it WILL be somethink of a bang , but the current internet is kind of low for this kind of stuff , i hope a new way of inter-netting will be invented soon
this will fail hard, i wont event start on how stupid the concept is … If you were in to gaming for longer you would know this isnt the first time this was tried …
OMGWEGOTSAGENIUS ON OUR HANDS
PLEASE TELL US , where the fuck did we said this is NEW?
please tell us , where is the stupidity in that concept?
please tell us my lord , are you gaming for 1298371984721 years now?
I think this is still a few years too early. IMO, there needs to be faster worldwide internet connections first, because that’s what this technology relies on.
I know I won’t use this service as soon as it comes out, but maybe 5 or so years down the line I might try it out.
Also because it’s investor-baiting bullshit.
You lose your contract, you lose the games you bought.
Not worth it.
they could make a contract with steam to share the accouts ,also , games could be downloaded via steam
Games won’t be downloaded, they will be streamed. You will never ‘physically’ ‘own’ any game.
The revolution part, I believe.
Well, I signed up for the beta so I could try it for free. If I get in I’ll let you guys know if it performs as well as they say it does (unless of course there’s an NDA, in which case I’ll tell you after the NDA is lifted.)
Not sure if there will be an NDA cause what could I possibly tell you about it that you couldn’t find out from the website? There may be some games on the service that would want an NDA, but for the service itself I really don’t see a need. Doesn’t mean they won’t do it tho.
Personally, I Hope This Thing Fails.
i think everyone who knows about this applied for the beta , including meh
I live in Amsterdam, so I can’t sign up for the beta. You guys let us know how it is ok, that would be great!
if you singed for the beta doesn’t mean that you get it
, you have to be chosen it seems…
Ick, you signed up for this piece of shit?
Enjoy paying a fee every month to play games you never actually own.
This thing will never catch on, it would completely rape the mod industry.
there are people smarter then you in charge of it , who actually talk about something after they know what they are talking about , also , the beta will be free
There is just something scary, about not owning any of your games and being stuck playing single player games over the internet. There are enough people out there, still bitching about Steam and how you need an Internet connection, to play an offline game. Then, there’s the fee you will have to pay, together with your ISP’s special “3 month’s of free gaming” and 149.99 $ a month special.
It is destined to fail!
it will fail massively due to competition with AMD
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
