Old Games - Unknown games

I torrented that fucking game months ago and couldn’t get it to run on Windows 7 after hours of trying, so I deleted it.

Hmm, now that I think about it, I never tried playing that game on Vista/7.

Have to check that out later today.

Thief and Thief 2 (Metal Age) were great games in their own right.

pathway into darkness

terrifying when i was a kid…

lol at the system requirements - 2mb ram. LOL

also escape velocity

must have lost hours to that game and still do to its latest incarnation…

Loved that game, actually still have the game in those old big boxes PC games used to come in.

No one ever talks about Blood anymore. I never played it myself, but watching a Youtube video just now made it look enjoyable enough.

Level design is bland, alot of brown brown brown, and the weapons are meh, it’s slightly less mediocre than Redneck Rampage, but if you wanna enjoy your DOS first person shooting Shadow Warrior and Duke3D are the way to go.

Blood was amazing, loved playing it co-op as a kid, still have the original CD of that as well, also shadow warrior and duke 3d are both amazing games.

Also ac3d, weapons are meh? we are talking about the same blood right? those weapons rocked.

Here’s 2 of my favorites i forgot about -

Space Hulk (AMIGA,DOS) + Space Hulk - Vengeance of the Blood Angels (WINDOWS 95):

These games i played as a kid, both were quite scary, and the basic idea was you’d move your squad of marines, or terminators through an abandoned hulk overrun with Genestealers (warhammer’s xenomorphs if you will) It was very tactical, fun and scary. It had various objectives based off the board game, such as flaming rooms, collecting archive records, placing field generators, etc.
The Second space hulk introduced a network multiplayer mode which made for great fun doing missions cooperatively, and i believe there was a deathmatch mode where you and another player both have a squad of terminators and duke it out.

Not old, but pretty under the radar:
Geist

A rather entertaining first person possession simulator, rather than a straight up shooter. Occasional issues but it’s very fun.

Space Hulk was awesome.

I have it too, I never finished it though. I came with Gunman Chronicles which came with Half-Life Platinum on steam so that was awesome.

This still works afaik.

Oh yeah, great game. Old and people probably don’t know about it?

How 'bout Monty Python’s Holy Grail Game?

Here’s another one i liked, Alien Breed 3D for the amiga - a contender to doom at the time. It had some nice features such as rooms over rooms, and even refractive and clear water. Not the best game ever, but certainly fun.

Oh yeah, I played that Monty Python game. Was the first image meant to be The 7th Guest? That game’s famous! It was one of the first games exclusively released on CD-ROM.

OH! Well, my mistake then. :stuck_out_tongue: I love The 7th Guest.

What the hell? I was just looking for my avp CD the other day and i found the cd for that game, and i had no idea what it was.

Not 100% under the radar but The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy game
arguably the most difficult game I have ever played

the updated graphics versions on the BBC website are what I’ve played though

I loved Geist. I’ve beaten the game like 3 times. I would love to have a sequel.
