Odd Banner Ads

One of the obligatory banner ads that showed up on this site claimed it had a “free, legal” download of HL2. The site itself, MyGamesFile, shows things for that game, as well as Crysis and Mass Effect. Problem is, it doesn’t have anything that explains how they can offer those downloads.

I checked their Contact page, thought maybe I’d drop them a line and ask “what’s the catch?” That page shows the same images, though it’s labeled them with different game titles, and part of the page has the “lorem ipsum” fake Latin you see in layout mock-ups.

Has anyone else looked into that site? What’s the deal with them, anyway? I stopped looking when I ran into the Contact page, it just looked too fishy.

Probably thought you were a gay man because this is an internet video game forum.

<_<

_>

it’s illegal plus it’s full of viruses.

Never buy or download anything from sites that get advertised by google, I’ve even found a site that claimed it could fix 404 errors.

Here’s an odd one.

oh rly?

I laughed for a minute over that, but that was followed by sobering silence when I realised some people would have to be stupid enough to believe that.

lolz

oh my virgin eyes!

I noticed that site before.
Look closely at some of it’s FO3 screenshots, and you’ll notice one of them is Oblivion.

I have
‘blocking ads causes swine flu. viewing them saves puppies’
‘why do we all have to wear these ridiculous ties?’
I may consider investing in these products…

Yup. Adblock is the cure.

Show your support.

No exceptions. No compromises.

Um Vicki, hate to burst your bubble, but unless you’ve adopted, and have been abstinent, you’re not virgin concidering you’re married, and unless I’m mistaken, have kids.

Unless you got f***ed in the eye D:

In… The eye?

Oh, the mental horror! :fffuuu:

Maybe they’re not her eyes, as in the ones in her head. Maybe she harvests the eyes of virgins.

Why are you trying to tell her she’s not a virgin? I’m guessing she knows that better than you do.

Impossible.

Also, you can’t block the ads guys! It says:

Ahhhhh!
