That man clearly has shifty eyes. Zenimax should never trust someone with such shifty eyes.
Haha, have you read Zenimax’s statement? They actually claim that the VR “know-how” Carmack gained while working for ZeniMax belongs to ZeniMax. I wasn’t aware that companies could stake a legal claim to the experience you gain working for them.
if that was the case, I could get sued by the cable company I used to work for, for setting up someone’s cable box for free
I guess technically you could if it were specialized training received for the sole purpose of work at the company. It’s kinda like learning how to make burgers for 5 Guys Burgers and then going to Mcdonalds and using the same recipe.
In that case it’s not the training that’s patented, but the recipe.
If he learned how to make VR while at Zenimax under Zenimax’s funding, it’s their obligation to patent that method of VR. They have no rights to the knowledge he developed while there unless they specifically patent it. If ya snooze ya lose.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
