No. Not socialism at all. Do you even know what you’re talking about?
Of course not, but his parents obviously do.
I don’t follow?
Parents passing on flawed political beliefs. Insulting his age and family at the same time.
THAT’S THE JOKE.
I was mainly aiming at the passing on of flawed political beliefs and his brainless citing of it. I have no idea how old he/she is, so for all I care, he’s 30.
Ah, okay. Thanks.
The argument comes when fuel cells are faced with:
because there is no burning in a fuel cell.
Hydrogen may be burned, but then again, you could light a battery on fire and enclose it in a steam engine. That doesn’t make batteries a combustible fuel. Anyway, here’s the vindicator:

You know, any conversion generates heat. Yet it is wrong to consider human metabolism a form of combustion, which follows another hydrogen-oxygen reaction by breaking down hydrocarbons:

“In the technical sense, in the economic definition, [Obama] is not a Socialist"
- Ron Paul
Obama, noooo, he’s not socialist at all? Why else would he want universal health care and support wealth redistribution?
Because he thinks about the entire country instead of just the wealthy pigs?
Are you saying Ron Paul is wrong? I’m astonished, most Obama haters love Ron Paul.
Again, Obamacare is virtually identical to the system enacted by 2009 Republican presidential front-runner Mitt Romney during his term as governor.
Oh yes, everyone who is wealthy is most definitely a pig and doesn’t deserve the money they worked their asses off for. Why should the government take away their hard-earned money and give it away to someone who didn’t work hard. If you don’t know anyone who lives off government welfare, I do–many, at that–and I can tell you not many work to improve their lives and don’t mind continuing living off the government.
Did I ever say Mitt Romney and Ron Paul were great?
I have to agree with this. Nothing irks me more than having to pay for someone else’s inability to take care of themselves.
For Christ’s sake, certain aspects of liberalism are incredibly stupid! Wealth redistribution is crazy!
Another thing, why should the government buy a company, a bank, or any industry? In a real free market, companies that fail are supposed to crash and burn. The government should NOT use other people’s money to support an obviously crippled corporation. If companies are never going to fall to the ground, how are new ones supposed to rise up? Nothing lasts forever; if it was not meant to be, that’s the end. The government does not need to interfere with such matters.
Socialism, by definition: “Federal ownership of industry.”
What fucks us over with this is you can’t compete with the government; all of their money comes from us! And they seem to think they have an infinite amount.
This also makes “Obamacare,” as it is so dubbed, incredibly idiotic…non-Federal insurance will become much more expensive.
One of the big arguments to support “Obamacare” is that “32 million people don’t have health care.” Er… did it ever occur to them that many of them simply don’t want it?
Wealth redistribution is a technique practiced by all forms of government. Not just liberals.
Agreed
Not all their money comes from us. I, for one, don’t support the health bill. But that’s because, as you said, some people just don’t want healthcare.
Alas, this is a thread that’s supposed to be about Atlantic drilling and new fuel sources. Let’s try and stay focused on that and turn this into another NO U thread.
There’s a US Healthcare thread a bit further down anyway.
Aye, I did stray a bit off topic.
Whoops, I didn’t mean to necessarily say liberals. Maybe socialistic? Wealth redistribution is not one of the facets of capitalism. Thus, we aren’t entirely capitalist…
OT:
I have this crazy theory about oil. What if, by chance, it is a product of Earth’s natural geological processes? Ever thought of that? If so, it’s a naturally replenishing resource, unless the Earth stands still (<–cwhutididthar), we should be fine.
IIRC, isn’t gulf drilling a -bit- risky? If you’re doin’ it wrong there’s likelihood of major spillage…iirc.
Ummm, oil is a naturally replenishing product produced by geological process, it just takes millions of years to generate.
You clearly have no fuckin’ clue of what you’re talking about, don’t you?
I took the earth millions of years to create the amount of petroleum we currently have, and it took us maybe what, a hundred and a half years, to almost deplete it. There’s not a lot of oil remaining, many say there’s only about 40 years of oil left.
