nVidia card required to play Crysis.

Okay, I couldn’t find an answer anywhere else so…
I recently went out and bought Crysis, but there’s one thing I didn’t completley think through: do I need an nVidia GPU to play Crysis. I have an ATI HD right now on this PC. Thanks ahead.

I have never heard of a game that REQUIRED one or the other video card.

Crysis works fine on both nVidia and ATI/AMD graphics cards.

Yeah you do.
You need this one to play it.
Here
It won’t play on anything else. [COLOR=‘black’]Trollface

I have an HD 5850 and it runs fine on mine.

No, it does not require one. Are there any games that do?

nVidia cards run the game ‘better’ because the game is optimized for it but it’ll play on any card.

You need 2 in SLI actually…

I’m using a GTX275, and I get a really good FPS on En (with motion blur off, and AA x4)

Get the fuck off the internet until you learn to type.

I’m pretty sure he’s a bot.

You’re an idiot.

…he needs 3 in SLI.

They’re all joking. You need a pair of 3dfx Voodoo 2 cards working in SLI.

I played through Crysis with no hitches whatsoever (apart from the occassional frame rate drop) with a 4850, e6750, XP and 3gb DDR2. All graphics settings on high, 2xAA.

There are certain proprietary technologies Nvidia own such as PhysX and their brand of 3D vision however I don’t know of any PC game that will only play on Nvidia cards.

Any developer who tried to do this would probably be sued along with Nvidia by ATI for fowl play. Not to mention the community backlash.

More like QUAD SLIE

He needs to link up 4 computers each powered by a quad sli system.

He needs a bitchin’ fast GPU.

It comes in SLi? I’ll buy 10

Don’t forget the new nVidia sound cards in SLI. 14.2 Dolby Digital surround sound!
