Seems pretty cool, if not a bit hardcore.
I’ll probably get one in a few years if the price comes down and it looks like the support for it keeps happening.
Though, Instead of a pistol grip, I think a machine gun grip with a few buttons on the sides so you could center it and not use the keyboard would be awesome. I love the M+K combo, but M+Falcon combo seems ridiculous. The Falcon needs to be the sole control device.
For instance: Use linear movements to strafe and walk around. Tilt the gun to look around and turn. Rotate to lean left and right. A couple buttons on the side to switch weapons and activate stuff. Mentally, that seems like the proper way for it to work.
I demo’d this with COD4. It’s a lot of fun, but I have a hard time imagining a player using a Falcon would be competitive against a player using a mouse - its just less efficient. And it slides around a bit if you have heavy hands.
Also holding a pistol grip but not aiming down the sights doesn’t feel immersive to me.
You mean K+Falcon? If I’m remembering right, you can push the falcon left and right while aiming straight to lean, but its still WASD to move - and I think thats the most effective way to do it.
Nah, waste of money in my opinion. I doubt it’d improve my gaming performance over mouse and keyboard, and I’d feel like a tool waving that thing around in front of me at a screen.
Then again, I’m not exactly a hardcore gamer.
But you are! Don’t you see? We’re all just prisoners here, of our own device!
I’m just here for the novelty of watching this forum get ridiculous when the mod gets close to release. I also use my ‘old user’ status as an excuse to bitch at other users and get away with it most of the time.
$20? I think that’s a pretty reasonable price for it. I might get it at some point, if I manage get some more room on my desk.
You know thats the price for just the grip, right?
The actual thing is like $190
D:
Didn’t see that part.
Ha-ha-Fuck that.
In twenty years, maybe. These would be best off in video arcades (which don’t really exist anymore outside of Japan).
Why don’t they just make mice with vibration? Because you’ll stick it where it doesn’t belong.
It’d be interesting to have for the gravity Gun.
Fixed.
Actually not a bad question, besides the point that (for most implementations I can think of) you could just lift it off the desk to defeat whatever mechanism was pushing against your hand.
And in the master’s chambers, they gathered for the feast.
They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can’t kill the beast!
i think this would be awesome and is worth the money, but they need to come out with more than a pistol grip. I know the pistol grip is pretty realistic, but really- how much to you use pistols in fps games? i think something more along the lines on a rifle would be better, but probalby more expensive.
Most rifles these days have pistol grips.
Logitech did.
The iFeel mouse. A friend of mine had one, it was bizarre.
I think it’s an awsome tool… until you think about it.
Reminds me of that vest you wore during FPS games, that when you got shot, it’d hit you on your chest where you got shot, get shot in the back, get hit in the back IRL.
Why would you want to get beaten up by a computer? You’d get out of a gaming session and people would think you just got into a fight from all the bruises.
