No helmet=Super Armor?

So Gordon Freeman in Half Life 1 fought off zombies, aliens and soldiers. Then he kicked everyones ass. In Half Life 2 he’s a hero and fights more aliens, zombies and more.

Yet his armor isn’t really meant for combat, more of a bio suit. Yet hey lets say he’s got the best armor in the world. My question is how does Gordon Freeman’s head avoid bullets? He doesn’t have one, other HEV suit users wear them.

I mean did the grunts in Half Life 1 not notice his big open head? Or did the headcrabs forget to attack his face? Did the aliens just not see his fleshy head?

Also how do his glasses stay on all the time?

So I want a reason. A funny one, a real one or an extreme one. Either one make up a reason on Why Freeman does not need a helmet

My idea: He never used a helmet as a child and NEVER fell of his bike.

Glasses: Because they are welded to his head. Duh

It’s a game.

You can compare Gordon to Chuck Norris. Nothing is impossible for him.

How can someone who’s been using the internet for more than a year think Chuck Norris is still okay to bring up

Gordon has metal plate in his head (black mesa rules)

The chuck Norris Meme is dead. please stop using it. anyhow, Gordon doesn’t get shot in the head because

  1. Its a videogame. NPCs point and shoot thats all there is.
  2. Its very difficult to actually achieve headshots anyway.

Realistically speaking, most soldiers are trained to aim for center mass. On the rare occasions that he would be having his head shot at, I assume he would either dodge the bullets, get graze wounds, or cover his head with his arms. Is that a satisfactory explanation?

How about explosions?

Explosions kill by gut rupturing, flesh burning, and occasionally by blowing limbs off.

The game expects you to run away from explosions they can kill you in one blast, regardless of armor

If it really bothers you, restart the game whenever you think you take damage to the head.

Storyline speaking, the grunts never hit his head, Gordon dodges every headcrab, probably gets hurt a bit, but obviously not enough to die.

Gameplay wise, you can get attacked until your health bar goes down.

He can’t wear a helmet because his glasses are in the way, which we’ve already established can’t go off.

So there you go.

First off, its a game. Secondly, do you where glasses? Its like they are just lightly sitting there, perched on your nose, waiting for the slightest breeze to knock them off. They stay on better than you would expect.

Let me get this straight, does or does Gordon not have a head?

wait…oh AHAHAHAHAHA XD XD XD

OP = Representation of all children in the world that get ahold of a keyboard.

OP, if you’re going to take Gordon Freeman’s model that literally he would basically be a pair of floating arms.

Yeah – how would he carry all those guns?

I like how some people are acting like I’m having some anal misunderstanding of the fact Half Life is a game. Well no duh. That’s why I said “Funny reasons” as well because anything works.

I’m fully aware it’s a game. If I really was so uptight about game realism I would have ranted about it and had a huge 10 paragraph essay about how 90% of the things in any game [in this case Half Life] are unrealistic and silly.

Second question (already somewhat mentioned): How does he hold all those damn guns?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
