No Alan Wake for the PC?

That’s still a major stretch. There are still plenty of good PC games coming out, albeit most of them are multiplatform. A few games aren’t going to change that.

Also, I love how people say “well, at least we still have Valve and Blizzard!” That’s just fucking sad.

Publishers make more from PC games than consoles when you compare per-unit profit. Microsoft likes the 360 more because they get more money from each copy sold when compared to the PC. For publishers, i think it’s the difference 15 dollars. When you multiply that by the number of total sold, that’s a lot of money that Microsoft makes.

The console war is over. Besides the PS3 slim, the three systems are pushing you to buy more titles, not the console itself. This applies to both exclusives as well as multi platformed games (I.E. MW2). The only way for the PC to get it’s crown back is for Microsoft to go over board and piss off the US government. Microsoft is too good a company to release the Iron grip it holds on the industry, after Digital distribution takes over for the next generation of consolers, it will only be Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. That means that there will be no retailers to negotiate with.

All of this makes me sad. But alas, hopefully Valve stays true. Blizzard and ID are already leaning towards the console market, and it makes me sad. i hope that in the end we have more than MMOs and shitty ports to play.

i know… i said that… but it’s remedy’s legacy… max payne as a character looks set to become lame… Alan Wake had so much potential as an RPG with thriller and horror elements, now it looks close to your standard horror/survival shooter and is console-only… died before he even got started…

both series are dead to me now… i still play the original max payne occasionally on an old pentium 3 though B)

Sad news, indeed. I was looking forward to it.

I remember those trailers a long time ago showing off the power of Intel quadcore CPU´s for this game, now they´re like hurr durr no moar PC lulz.
