Newer ways to kill enemies?

Suggestion: allow the player (only in situations where they are outnumbered) to beat the odds by using the environment to their advantage (applies to the whole think element of source). Half Life 2 did offer the player these opportunities as well, so it would make sense to have it in the original Half Life starter.

There’s a hole in the 2nd floor (caused from resonance cascade), there’s a vending machine that’s pushable, and there’s a HECU Marine conveniently underneath the hole. Need i say more?

There’s 10 HECU Marines in a storage unit, there’s a stack of heavy boxes that haven’t been piled up properly ,and all it requires is a little push.:retard:

Shifty, with a history of 110 posts on your account, you should already know that isn’t necessary create a new thread just for that…

Lets defend an area with one of these:

omg. If you ever wanted to send 6 grenades downrange per second. But you would we be out of ammunition in 5.49 seconds at full auto.

I’ll take 2.

Having flashbacks to Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction now.

I’m pretty sure he was suggesting new ways of killing enemies that require a tad more thought and effort than equipping a weapon & clicking at the thing you want to die.

Well, Half-Life did have explosive crates you could shoot which were conveniently placed next to HECU marines, which is sort of like what you suggested.

Okay then I got one, luring Zombies into one of those stray laser beams from Anomalous Materials lab.

New ways to kill enemies?

I’m sure you could Lady Gaga headcrabs to death.

If RickRoll is a verb, then so is Lady Gaga.

How about Mr and Ms Fuck?

That would be Lady Gaga…

This thread is now officially a lady gaga thread. Congraculations.

Black Mesa : Telephone II

IT’S BEHIND YOU! D:

Ah it’s got my leg shoot it!

What a way to go. Dry-humped and crazied to death. :frowning:

Seriously though, with the physics system in place, I’m sure you could manage the odd creative kill or 2.

If I may just point out this bit, since when did 10 HECU find them selves in a storage unit, that sounds like a death trap, a single grenade would obliterate them entirely. Or, in accordance with the theme of this thread, you could just close and lock the doors, which would trap them. If they tried cutting their way out, then they would burn up all of their O2, and suffocate. Either way, thats 10 HECU out of the way.

I originally posted this in the weapon changes thread:

…So, we all love the random explosive barrels placed throughout all the Half-Lifes (even though I doubt I’m the only one who has ever found themselves asking, “who in their right mind would leave all these barrels laying around?”). I was thinking how it would be sweet to have liquid nitrogen barrels or something similar…some kind of frozen variant of the random explosive barrel, a random freezing barrel lol. Or, around the areas in the facility that require extreme cooling, have liquid N storage tanks or exposed pipes running the walls which, when pierced with the magnum, can freeze the surrounding area/victims.

It’s like that scene from T2: shooting the frozen T1000, and watching him explode. Imagine doing that in HL…exploding, frozen zombies lol. Perhaps include the ability to freeze feet to floors, leaving the bodies unharmed but helpless and struggling. Just a thought, but it seems like fun.

That does seem like fun, but I want black mesa to come out soon…

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
