Why would they spend money and time on an upgrade that barely does any difference? Their time and resources are better spent on a completely new console.
If you really want Microsoft to add more RAM to the 360, this isn’t the place to push for it.
And the only reason the 360 has 512 in the first place, is because Epic showed them Gears of War with 256 and with 512. (from what I’ve heard)
Why even release a slim in the first place lol, well TBH it doesn’t matter much about the upgrade, as they can add VRAM. My main concern was RAM for the new one, 4GB shouldn’t be that hard for a new console, and SSD would be cool for the new console, but probably not gonna happen.
The slim was launched both as a response to Sony’s PS3 Slim and also as a way to launch an improved and cheaper version of the 360 with a better and quieter cooling system and better quality components/construction.
Though some of them still receive the RROD. Microsoft should definitely work on quality control with their next console generation. I had my 360 die on me once. So much so, that Microsoft replaced the unit with an entirely new one. I requested that they future proof the console, to prevent it from receiving the dreaded red lights, but they really should have done something about it on the onset.
LIVE needs to be optimized too, with the freedom to play online without having to pay a monthly fee. Backwards compatibility would be a plus.
Though at this point in time, I really only see myself getting a WiiU, as I’m only interested in seeing how Nintendo will shape their future.
Since they released the Xbox 360 Arcade package a few years back, all consoles have in theory been protected from the RROD because it uses a different chip (falcon if I recall correctly?)
Unless you’re stupid and use your 360 in an abnormally hot environment?
Ack Don’t get me started with Nintendo and their cheap antics. They piss me off just thinking about it, they have become the ‘Apple’ of console gaming. I bought a DSi and the thing was nothing but a regular DS, with apps and a camera. Nothing I couldn’t find the emulator for on an android. The games are terrible, well not all. The graphics on the 3DS fall far behind the PSVita(where i’ll be putting my money) and the games are nothing but re-makes of classic games and maybe a few original games, as if that’s enough to make me buy it. The graphics are a slight bump up from the other DS and the gameplay with the touch screen could be used to make great games, but nope very few games that are fun that use touchscreen most games are avoiding using it.
The WiiU, I don’t even want to get started on, the graphics are ok but they are just now catching up to xbox and ps3, the games are going to play the same, and I imagine that the monitor controller will cost a fortune, and just like the past ones it will have very few good games, and a lot of remakes at launch. I probably won’t upgrade my Wii as I see nothing innovative that will make me want to change. I can play my PS3(if I had one) on my PSVitsa without a new PS4, and I can play it anywhere in my house or outside of my house(I think it’s limited by wi-fi or 3G like OnLive) which means I have the whole PSP, PSOne, PS2(If I have launch PS3), PSV, and PS3 game selection as long as I own them and have it in my PS3.
The Only Reason I’ll Get a 3DS ~ They need to stop milking the series.
They never advertized it as anything else.
Other than removing the GBA slot, which killed some functionality.
That’s the main reason I’ll avoid it. I may eventually get a Wii to play the games I’ve missed, but doubt I’ll get a Weeoo.
Yeah because Halo Microsoft never Call of Duty does this.
Yes they do, the Halo remake WAS NOT Bungie’s IDEA! Microsoft is stupid for trying to do that to Halo, I wish that Bungie didn’t leave Halo for whatever they are planning, but 343 runs it now, so hopefully halo 4 won’t be bad. CoD was turned to crap after CoD4:MW. Activision is just milking this game until it runs out of milk.
I think he was referring to most things staying the same between Halo 1, 2, and 3.
At least Halo hasn’t used (nearly) the same version of the engine for the last 5 games.
No, but it’s been the same mediocre game for the last 5 games. Engine changes won’t mean shit if your gameplay is boring.
Gameplay wasn’t boring it was good, I like it’s originality and the fact that it doesn’t try to stick with the trends much, although they did use somethings from CoD which I thought was okay in Reach. I also like Forge, a game that allows you to make and share custom maps is hard to come by on Xbox.
What exactly was original about Halo’s gameplay?
I’ve heard dozens of people say how original it is, but no one can provide examples. It’s just another human vs. aliens fps, and the only reason that most people like it as much as they do is that it was the first fps they ever played on a console, or at all.
How is it not original? It is what redefined fps games. It was made by the people who made the first fps game that had vertical & horizontal aim. The games after it are unoriginal, not Halo. Thats the same thing going on with CoD and BF, BF is original and CoD is repetitive, yet I hear people saying BF3 is a CoD clone or it stole stuff from CoD and they brand it as an unoriginal military shooter. When it’s the other way around CoD stole the weapon lvl system from BF and everyone thinks it’s original, same with the drones they were copied from Homefront, and the gametypes aren’t original either.
Back on topic,
Halo is a medium paced shooter, not too fast, not too slow. It’s engine allows for a well built map maker in game allowing infinite replay and fun on multiplayer. ther is no ‘gameplay style’ as almost everything can be edited in the gametybe settings. You could turn it into a CoD mutiplatyer experience or a BF game with your own maps and gametypes. It has a large community and a well written story. Multiplayer can be huge wars or a small team deathmatch. you decide, it’s your game.
Halo redefined the way FPS games work on console, not the whole genre.
^ Exactly. That’s the only reason it’s as popular as it is, because it was the first fps that was properly designed for a console. That doesn’t automatically make it good.
Not really, I hadn’t known that it was the first fps properly designed for a console until recently.(as in about 2 or 3 months ago) and i’m pretty sure alot of people didn’t either. It has a great story, and setting. I don’t understand how just because it was the first proper fps had anything to do with it. The multiplayer is well made and very fun for hours, the maps in multiplayer are updated and added for free (not the map packs just the ones on Forgeworld) it has something for everyone.
Forge- For people who like making maps
Multiplayer- For pretty much everyone, has alot of fun and pro game modes
Campaign- For those over achievers who like to do speedruns and stuff.
and none of that has to do with it being the first quality console fps.
Even with all this it isn’t as popular as you think, you must be around alot of people who talk about it 24/7 or something.
Halo didn’t do anything original or groundbreaking. It simply perfected what already existed into a pretty polished and fun package.
We must not be talking about the same game. I’m talking about the FIRST Halo, as in Combat Evolved, that came out in 2001.
And I’m 18. I hang out with guys my age, who play nothing but Call of Duty and Halo, what do you expect?
