New things Half-Life 3 related?

That would be an awesome plot twist, but hey I’ve also been on the cocain… caffeine lately so maybe your tripped out brain is tripping out mine. We’re coke brothers!

On topic: OMGWTFBBQ Half Life 3 is being released, or something like that.

The vortigaunts in HL2 refer to the Nihilanth being the “lesser master”, and say that “the greater must also fall in time”. I’ve often wondered who they’re referring to.

Personally I think, we’ll hear something related to a HL movie soon and those news will arrive before the news about HL3.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Purchase Brothers are working on something, as (if I’m not mistaken), they met with Valve soon after the first part of their City 17 was released. The second part of City 17 looks awesome, but still Part 2 looks like some bits and pieces taken from a bigger film. In any case there are a lot of other people making their own HL- and Portal-themed movies, might be a sign for a start of something.

Have to be a post whore for a bit but.
Did Valve Skipped the project of Half Life 2: Episode 3? Because I’ve already seen an offical video (not a fake one) of Half Life 2: Episode 4 - Return to Black Mesa and it’s been awesome!!

Episode Four was a cancelled expansion by a different company

Why would they skip episode 3 to make episode 4, anyway?

And I swear to fucking god, don’t say they can’t count to three.

They can’t use prime numbers that have an R in them.

This also bodes poorly for Half-Life Thirteen.

This thread is still going?

It’s drunkenly lurching along, yes.

It was in a coma and thought to be dead for a while. Right now it’s scratching at the coffin lid.

It’s Robert Culp spinning in his grave because the next HL is still dark.

No. Common sense, reading the current market stats and the SteamBox is not expected,by anyone, to kick up enough dust for millions to justify moving over to the Linux version.

HL2 was playable on crappy 2 - 3 generation old cards (maybe older) and 1ghz P3 rigs (like mine at the time)–> and it still looked better than anything but Doom 3 and, perhaps, Far Cry

They tend to make games with very impressive graphics and make sure they optimize well for the lower end.

And Gabe Newell has already indirectly confirmed that Half-Life 3, or rather ‘Ricochet 2’, will be the Source Engine 2s debut.

Really cannot wait. :’(

I’d laugh hysterically if the first source 2 game was literally Ricochet 2. But then after 5 minutes I’d be angry as hell.

So… this surfaced up…

“This is the most believable one I’ve seen. Whoever made it is pretty damn good.
And, if Valve made it (it is a Valve type trailer, but a hardcore fan could mimic just as well), they must be very, very deep in development right now.
I don’t know… Like I said, it’s very Valve like. Always hold your breath, of course. I really like this one, though.”

Top comment says exactly what I would say. It’s not particularly legitimate looking, but I like it.

It does look very nice. But the Ricochet 2 tag… :meh:

It has been the “replacement name” for Half life (2 episode) 3 in the press. Hell, maybe instead of bitching about whether or not it’s episode 3 or HL3 we should be calling it Ricochet 2.

Name nitpicking… how about “Valve game 2013”?

“Valve game 201x” seems more appropriate.

Details, details…

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
