New things Half-Life 3 related?

Can’t we have some hope in our stone, dark hearts, Mr. Dotard?

Tweets updated, false hype it seems. It’s most likely TF2 Oculus Rift or something.

that’s…yeah, predictable

Damn, I was hoping that it would at least last until E3.

It… has to exist…

Clever deception, but I sensed something was wrong. :jizz:

That would actually make you far more gullible than the rest of us.

It’s been six years, Valve, seriously. The joke wore itself out half a decade ago.

Half-Life² came out 6 years after Half-Life.

They are working on a new engine for 2 and a half years.

We better wait until they finish the engine and make the next Half Life for it.
I wouldn’t stand a new Half Life title on just a little upgraded version of the current Source engine, especially after all this wait.

I wouldn’t even mind if it was on an upgraded Source, but all this stuff where we think it might be announced here or think we’ve got a lead there is just getting exhausting.

Portal was never a tech demo though. The first one was a kind of gameplay experience demo but not a technical one.

The difference is that Valve at least talked about Half-Life 2 to some extent and only promised the ill-fated Oct. 2003 release date. There’s also the fact that while HL1 ended on a cliffhanger of sorts, it wasn’t really “promising” a follow-up like Episode 2 was.

With HL2Ep3, Valve stated “Christmas 2007”, then fell completely silent about it after Ep2 came out. That’s where a lot of the frustration comes from.

Personally, I’m fine with Valve taking their time, so long as it’s good (I’m one of about 3 people on the planet who doesn’t really like Half-Life 2 that much), but it’d be nice to at least know what’s going on, if anything.

if anything are two slightly worrying words.

Terrified of the unknown, are you?

So I found this post on some Valve employee’s site, it’s password protected and seems to have something to do with Valve.

The image you click on to get there is this

Seems to be the Spy playing BF3. According to his Linkedin site, he was an environmental designer for Portal 2 and CSGO, and it also says he worked on SOURCE 2.

Look at the picture!!! There’s an HL related card just above Portal 2’s in the pic.
inbe4hl3speculation

There’s no speculation to be made at all

This page was just recently removed, though the picture seems to be still up.

Edit: Also, Marc Laidlaw made mention of this Twitter account apparently, BreenGrub.

https://twitter.com/BreenGrub

Its first tweet was May 31, 2012 and stopped on June 1, 2012. It just started tweeting again yesterday and has made several tweets since then.

Where did Marc make that reference?
EDIT: his twitter account

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
